Individual and Corporate Members must have an Online Portal user account to access the full range of member benefits and discounts, as well as the HKSI Institute Mobile.
For Individual Members, you only need to activate your user account by completing the first-time login procedure, if you have not already done so.
If your company is a Corporate Member, you need to create a user account and ensure that your company name is inputted in your “PROFILE” under the “Current Employment” section of the Online Portal. Afterward, proceed with the first-time login procedure.
You need to create a user account to enrol for examinations, training courses, and events, as well as to access the HKSI Institute Mobile. Once the account is created and you have completed the first-time login procedure, you will have easy enrolment access and conveniently track your attendance records.
This may be caused by one of the following reasons:
- user account has not been activated within 72 hours after the “First-Time Login” email was sent to your registered email address
- first-time login procedure may not be properly carried out
- username and/or password entered do not match any accounts on record

After successfully activating / creating your account, you should receive a “First-Time Login” at your registered email address. If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder.

If the entered username and/or password do not match any accounts on record, you will not be able to log in. After three unsuccessful attempts, your account will be locked. To reset your password, click here.
To retrieve your username, please click here. Your username, with certain characters masked, will be sent to you through email. If you are still unable to recall the correct username, please email us at [email protected] to request a username reset. Once your username is reset, you can reactive your account.
Please complete the Form for Amendment of Personal Information and email it to [email protected]. Upon updating your email address within two working days, we will notify you via return email. After the update is complete, you can reactive your account.
An Online Portal account enables you to enrol in our activities and keep track of your records, but it does not automatically grant you HKSI Institute membership. To enjoy members’ discounts and other benefits, you must apply for Individual or Corporate Membership by completing the application form and submitting the required supporting documents and payment. As a registered user of the Online Portal, you will be assigned a personalised QR code. This code can be used for easy check-in at HKSI Institute’s in-person training courses or events. You can access your QR code either through your Online Portal account or via the HKSI Institute Mobile.
Yes, you can request to have your Online Portal account permanently deleted. Please email us at [email protected] for assistance.
You can download the app "HKSI Institute Mobile" from the App Store or Google Play.
The HKSI Institute Mobile is supported by iOS version 12 to 16 and Android OS version 9.0 to 13.0.
The HKSI Institute Mobile offers essential features available on our website, allowing you to search, view and enrol in our activities, attend webinars and track your records at the HKSI Institute. In addition, the app provides unique features such as push notifications and an Insight section that provides industry updates and roundups from the Institute. Actions you take on both the app and website will be synced with each other.
After installing the HKSI Institute Mobile, log in using your Online Portal username and password.

While you can enrol in eCourses through the app, we do not recommend viewing the content on mobile devices as the original setting of the eCourses or eSeminars may not be adaptable to mobile devices.
eCredit is a digital coupon given to specific individuals on special occasions, which can be used to offset fees for certain activities within the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile.
eCredit recipients will be notified via email, and the eCredit’s value, expiry date, as well as its terms and conditions can be viewed from the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile.
eCredit can only be used via the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile. When you enrol in a course/event and proceed to “Checkout” stage, the “Apply eCredit” button will become visible for the eligible courses/events. Please select the eCredit that you would like to use and the payable amount will be automatically calculated.

You can download and print the Admission Form under “UPCOMING ACTIVITY” in your Online Portal from three working days before the scheduled PBE date. Please bring the Admission Form and your identification document to the examination centre on the scheduled date and time.
If you need a copy of the Admission Form, we can print it for you upon request. You can collect the form on the day of the examination.
No. You only need to bring your identification document to the CBE centre on the scheduled date and time.
This is because you enrolled for an examination at global examination centre or for remote examination. The examination date and time displayed on the HKSI Institute's Online Portal under the Upcoming Activities section, or HKSI Institute Mobile under My Exams section are shown in Hong Kong time. You can download the Admission Form to check the examination date and time, which will be in your examination time zone. You do not need to bring the Admission Form on the examination day.
You can access, download and/or print your notification of examination result and examination certificates from your Online Portal account or HKSI Institute Mobile, under “RECORD”.
For the CIIA Final Examination, we only provide hard copy, which can be collected at our counter by appointment.
For the PRC Securities Regulations Examination, please visit the Securities Association of China (SAC)'s website for notification.
For the TTC Examination, upon completion of Part A and Part B, the hard copy certificate can be collected at the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association (HKTA) counter.
Hard copies of the examination result and certificate will only be provided for the Certified International Investment Analyst Final Examination and Trust Training Certificate.
Candidates can download and print their Notification of Examination Results and/or Examination Certificate from the Online Portal within one year of the examination date.
Within one year from the date of the respective examination you have taken.
There is no expiry date for the examination result and certificate.
However, if you intend to apply for a license from a regulator or a designation from an association, you need to be aware of the relevant time frame. For example, for an SFC license, you need to apply within three years after passing the relevant examination. It is advisable to check with the respective regulators or associations for specific requirements.
Only upon successful completion of a preset combination of LE papers, candidates will be awarded the HKSI Institute Certificate. The papers must be completed within three years and the period will commence from the date of the first LE paper that the candidate passes. Please refer to the “Certificate and Membership” section on our website for details of the HKSI Institute Practising Certificates and HKSI Institute Specialist Certificates.
Candidates who have enrolled for the LE, CPWP Module 1 Examinations, CVAP, GSQE or TTC Examination can download the eStudy Guide for FREE via the “UPCOMING ACTIVITY” section of the Online Portal, or the “Downloads” section of the HKSI Institute Mobile. The guide can be downloaded starting from the enrolment date until the examination date of the enrolled examination(s).
For the LE and CPWP Module 1 Examination, candidate can change the interface language of the Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile to download the corresponding English and Chinese version.
For the GSQE; CVAP and TTC Examinations, Traditional Chinese and English versions of the eStudy Guide are available respectively.
For the CIIA Final Examination, upon registering as a candidate, you will receive the study guide in either electronic format in English version or hardcopy format in Simplified Chinese version, depending on the chosen examination language.
Yes, online enrolment and scheduling are mandatory for all CBE, following the two-step approach:
- Enrol and make payment via HKSI Institute Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile; and
- Schedule your examination session for a date that falls within 90 days of your enrolment date via a dedicated platform, the "ProScheduler".
The applicable CBE enrolled via the HKSI Institute include:
- Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries (LE);
- The Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society Qualification Examination (GSQE);
- Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) Module 1 Examination Paper 1;
- Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) Bridging Programme Post-training Examination;
- Post-training Examination for the Core Curriculum of the Certification Programme for Virtual Asset Professionals (CVAP); and
- Trust Training Certificate (TTC) Examination.

You may check the examination sessions to be held at the Hong Kong Examination Centre from the examination schedule prior to making the payment or scheduling.
No, you cannot. Scheduling or rescheduling a CBE is only permitted for the same paper and mode, subject to the availability of examination sessions. This scheduling and rescheduling feature does not apply to paper-based examinations.
No, you cannot. You can enrol in different examination papers within one transaction, but to enrol in the same paper more than once, you must first complete the payment and then enrol again.
To ensure a smooth remote examination check-in, please follow these steps
- Confirm that your examination/test (examination) venue meets all requirements.
- Use the restroom before the check-in, as candidates are required to remain within the camera's view once logged in to the remote examination application, ProProctor.
- Lock the door of your examination room.
- Have your original, valid Hong Kong Identity Card or travel document ready for verification.
- Check that all required settings are correctly configured on your examination computer and the second monitoring device.
- Close all other applications on your examination computer.
- Turn on the camera, microphone and speakers on your examination computer.
- Select your preferred input format (English or Chinese).
- Launch the ProProctor application 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to complete the enhanced system check, venue and personal scan, as well as image and identification document capture within 30 minutes to avoid being marked as absent.
- Log in to the ProProctor using your examination confirmation number and last name.
You can find your examination confirmation number in the confirmation email you received upon scheduling for the remote examination. Additionally, it is available in the HKSI Institute Online Portal under “Upcoming Activity” and in the “My Exams” section of the “Menu” tab in the HKSI Institute Mobile.
We do not recommend using a corporate computer for examinations. If you must use a device owned by an organisation, you need to have administrator rights/privileges to install and configure ProProctor correctly. Firewalls and other security settings on organisation-owned devices may restrict your ability to launch the ProProctor App. For more information on settings, please click here.
Please refer to your examination confirmation email for detailed instructions and a user guide. This email also includes contact information for technical support. If you need further assistance, please contact Prometric Support Team as your first point of contact.
Fluctuations in internet speed and reliability can happen, especially for wireless network (Wi-Fi). To ensure a smooth remote examination experience, please consider the following tips:
- Have a stable connection
- If using Wi-Fi, identify the location in your home or office where Wi-Fi is strongest and take the examination there
- Avoid having others on the same network using bandwidth-intensive applications, such as streaming services, video conferencing, and online gaming.
Venue requirements:
- Indoors (walled), well-lit, and free from noise and interruptions
- No distractions, including clearing posters, and covering all glass doors, windows, TVs, other monitors, and bookshelves
- Completely clear, no unauthorised items allowed on the desk
- Accommodate examination computer and second device (monitoring) positioned 1 metre apart

If you could not hear the Readiness Agent or Proctor, please log out of the ProProctor application, adjust your audio setting, and then log back into the app
To avoid such interruptions, it is important to check your audio settings BEFORE launching the ProProctor app .
The Zoom meeting ID and password will be provided by the Readiness Agent. You will then need to set a personal link name using the last seven (7) digits of your examination confirmation number.
The ProProctor chat box supports both English and Chinese Pinyin input methods. However, if you intend to use Chinese method, you must first download and install Google Pinyin on your examination computer and ensure that you select it as your input method BEFORE launching the ProProctor application.
If you do not receive a response from the Readiness Agent or Proctor within 15 minutes after logging into the ProProctor application, please sign out and contact Prometric directly for assistance. You can do so by visiting their website and using the Chat Bot located at the bottom right-hand corner of the website. For easier checking, please enter your examination confirmation number and last name in the Chat Bot.
If a disconnection occurs:
- Wait for 3-4 minutes post disconnection.
- Reboot your laptop/desktop.
- Run the system check and ensure all the checks are pass.
- Re-launch your examination using the “Launch exam” button on the top. You must go through the whole check-in process again, however your examination would start from the point where it was disconnected.
In case you are getting any specific error, please contact Prometric Support Team for further troubleshooting.
If you need any assistance during your examination, please communicate with your invigilator either by speaking out loud or using the web chat feature. They will be available to assist you as needed.
You can launch the ProProctor app up to 30 minutes before the scheduled admission start time, but no earlier. To avoid disqualification and the need to rebook at full cost, please ensure you launch the app at least 15 minutes before the start time indicated in your confirmation email.
Upon launching the app, you may need to wait up to 15 minutes for a proctor to join you, and during peak times, this wait may be slightly longer.
If you log in 30 minutes after the admission start time, you will not be able to access the examination, and your status will be marked as “Absent”.
If someone is present or enters your room during the examination, your session will be terminated, and your results may be invalidated.
No, breaks are not permitted during the examination, and you are required to remain in the camera's view at all times.
The LE paper you need to take in order to apply for a licence depends on the type of regulated activities (RA) you intend to perform, and the role you wish to hold (either Representative or Responsible Officer). Please refer to the "LE and the SFC Licences for Regulated Activities" section on our website to find out which LE papers are required.
Passing the LE paper is a prerequisite for applying for a license, and it is not an automatic issuance of the license by the SFC.
For Relevant Individual defined by the Banking Ordinance, please refer to the requirements of LE papers on Representative. For Executive Officer defined by the Banking Ordinance, please refer to the requirements of LE papers on Responsible Officer.
There are two types of examination modes available:
- Computer-based Examination (CBE)
- Hong Kong Examination Centre
- Global Examination Centres (Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom and United States)
- Remote Examination
- Mainland China (Enrolment at Securities Association of China)
- Taiwan (Enrolment at Securities and Futures Institute)
- Paper-based Examination (PBE)
- Macau Institute of Financial Services (MIFS) Examination Centre

Exclusive examination discounts are available for HKSI Institute Student Members. Student Members can enjoy a 50% discount on the following examination papers:
- LE Paper 1, 7, 8, and 12; and
- Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) Module 1 Examination Paper 1 and Paper 2.

If you registered for the activity directly on the Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile, you can access your non-examination activity and CPT records from both platforms under “RECORD”. Corporate training participants whose attendance is managed by their Human Resource / Training Department are not included in this group.
For webinar and in-person courses, you can retrieve your CPT Certificate of Attendance from the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile after three working days. While for eCourses, the certificate can be obtained immediately upon course completion through both of these platforms.
For lunchtime seminars, the provision of materials is subject to the speaker’s approval. As for other training sessions, the materials will be sent to you prior to the session through our eReminder email.
You will earn the qualified CPT/CPD hours once you have completed the eCourse or eSeminar by passing the final assessment.

You can renew your Individual Membership via the Online Portal, following the instructions as provided in our email invitation to you prior to the subscription due date.
For Corporate Membership, the Contact Person of your organisation will receive an email invitation and the Renewal Application Form before the subscription due date.

The CPT Star is an award given to HKSI Institute Individual Members who have completed over 15 CPT hours with the Institute, as an acknowledgment for their exceptional dedication to professional development.
You can apply for Small Company (S1) membership, which provides all the exclusive benefits of Corporate Membership except for nominating Corporate Nominees.

Yes, you may request in writing for deletion of your personal data by sending in your request to [email protected], or by post to Corporate Affairs Department, Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, 17/F, Cambridge House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong.
After logging into the Online Portal, go to “ENROL NOW” and follow the below:
- select “CPT/Non-CPT activity” or “Examination”,
- go to your preferred activity and click “Add to Cart”, and
- complete the checkout process within 15 minutes.
If the checkout process takes longer than 15 minutes or if your payment is unsuccessful, you will have to re-submit the enrolment for your selected activities after 30 minutes.
Yes. You can select multiple activities and add them into your cart, up to a maximum payment of HKD50,000. Please complete the checkout process within 15 minutes. If the checkout process exceeds the time limit, you will have to re-submit the enrolment for your selected activities after 30 minutes.
No. Online Portal only allows for individual enrolment.

All the examinations run by HKSI Institute, except the LE in Mainland China and Taiwan, are available for enrolment through the Online Portal.
No further applications will be accepted once the enrolment deadline has passed or the session is full.
With the exception of LE in China, LE in Taiwan and the PRC Securities Regulations Examination, you have the option to submit activity enrolment form(s) and make payments at our counter. You can download and print your official receipts for examination(s), training course(s) and/or event(s) from the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile under “RECEIPT”.
No. The receipt will only be issued under the registered person who enrolled in the examinations, training courses, or events.
However, if you are enrolling a group of five or more participants for training courses, the receipt can be issued under your company name. For more information on group enrolments, please contact us at [email protected].
Under our policy, once you have enrolled in an activity and paid the fees, they are considered final and cannot be transferred to another person or activity. If you decide to withdraw from the activity, please note that administration fees will apply. Please refer to Q2 of this section regarding withdrawal from examinations, and Q3 for details on withdrawing from a training course or event.
You can only apply to withdraw from the LE in Hong Kong, LE in Macau, or CPWP Module 1 examination before the withdrawal application deadline via the Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile. An administration fee of HKD500 per paper per session will be charged. No refund will be given after the application deadline.

You can withdraw from a training course or event up to four working days before its scheduled date via the Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile. Withdrawal does not apply to eCourses, eSeminars, and select training courses/events as indicated.
An administration fee of HKD100 or 40% of the training course or event fee, whichever is higher, will be charged. No refund will be considered after the withdrawal application deadline.
You can track your withdrawal request by checking the “UPCOMING ACTIVITY” section in the Online Portal, or “My Activities” section of the HKSI Institute Mobile. The withdrawal record will be displayed there until the date of the respective examination, training course or event.
Please note that no email confirmation will be sent for withdrawal requests.
If you paid by cash or EPS, we will refund in the form of a cheque sent by registered mail to your registered address. For other payment methods, the refund will be made via the same method that was used to make the payment. Please note that an administration fee per transaction will apply. The refund will typically be processed within 30 calendar days.
