FAQ: Is there any exemption from certain LE Papers?

For SFC licensing purposes, applicants with the appropriate qualifications recognised by the SFC may seek an exemption for certain papers. The "Guidelines on Competence" list the different qualifications recognised by the SFC and the exemptions granted.

However, for HKSI Institute Certificates purposes, there are no exemptions. Candidates must complete a preset combination of LE papers within three years, starting from the date they pass their first LE paper. Please refer to the “Certificate and Membership” section on our website for details of the HKSI Institute Practising Certificates and HKSI Institute Specialist Certificates.
