HKSI Institute Online Portal User Accounts
1. How can I access to my Online Portal?

It is very easy to access to your Online Portal:

  1. Activate or create an user account (once only)
  2. Complete the 5-step first-time login procedures by creating user name and password (once only)
  3. Log-in your Online Portal using your user name and password
2. If I am HKSI Institute member, do I need to apply for the user account of the Online Portal? If so, how to apply?

No because your user account has been set up. You only need to activate your user account by completing the first time login procedures.

3. My company is a Corporate Member of HKSI Institute. Do I need to create my personal Online Portal account?

To enable you to enjoy the benefit of being a staff of Corporate Member, please create/activate your personal Online Portal and update your company information.

4. I am not HKSI Institute member, do I need to apply for the user account of the Online Portal? If so, how to apply?

Starting from 27 September 2017, if you want to enrol for examinations, training course or events, you need to create an user account before enrolment. Once created, you can access to your personalised portal anytime and anywhere.

5. Why can’t I login to my Online Portal after I have activated / created account?

This may be caused by one of the following reasons:

  • the first-time login procedure may not be properly carried out
  • you have not created your user name and/or password
  • you have not activated your account within 72 hours after the “first-time login link” email is sent to your registered email address
  • your user name and/or password do not match with our record

6. What should I do if I do not receive the first-time login link email?

A “first-time login link” email should be sent to your registered email address upon successful activated / created account. If not, please check

  • your registered email address is correct
  • your junk/spam mail folder

7. If I am HKSI Institute Online Portal account user, am I also the HKSI Institute Member?

No. Although both HKSI Institute Members and non-Members have their own personalised Online Portal once they have registered and activated their accounts, non-Members do not enjoy the special benefits offered to our members nor access to Member Only activities or information.

For non-Member, you can apply for individual or corporate membership by completing and submitting the application form together with the required supporting documents. Please click here for detailed Membership information and application procedures.

8. Can I request to delete my Online Portal account permanently?

Yes. Please email us at [email protected].

Profile
1. Can I change my personal information?

Yes. You can change or update your personal information, except your name, HKID / Passport information and date of birth, at any time via your personalised Online Portal under “Profile”.

2. What is the purpose of the QR code?

Everyone who registers via your Online Portal will receive a personalised QR code. You do not need to print the confirmation email. You only need to login to your Online Portal through your mobile device and show your personalised QR code at the training/event's registration counter.

Enrolment (Online)
1. How can I enrol for examination(s), training course(s) or event(s) through the Online Portal?

You should have an Online Portal account. Please login to the HKSI Institute Online Portal and click “Enrol Now”. For details, please view the video demo.

2. Where can I find the examinations, training courses or events calendar?

Please click here (examinations) , here (training courses or events) or login to your Online Portal to check the relevant calendar.

3. Can I enrol for several examinations, training courses and events in one-go?

Yes. You can select multiple activities and save into the cart. You however need to complete the checkout process within 15 minutes. If the checkout process exceeds the time limit, you will have to re-submit the enrolment of all the activities in which you are interested

4. Can I do group enrolment at my Online Portal?

Online Portal only allows for individual enrolment so that each individual’s activity records can be kept and retrieved.

It is recommended all interested individuals should create and activate his/her Online Portal account.

5. Are all the examinations run by HKSI Institute are available for enrolment in my Online Portal?

All the examinations run by HKSI Institute, except the Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) Examination (first time enrol), are available for enrolment through my Online Portal.

If you plan to enrol for the CIWM Examination (first time enrol), please submit the enrolment form to us in person (during counter opening hours) or by post before enrolment deadline which can be found in our website “Qualification".

Enrolment (Offline)
1. Can I submit the enrolment form(s) at the HKSI Institute counter?

Yes. You can submit the enrolment form(s) during counter opening hours. We will process your application within four working days.

We however cannot guarantee your seat should you submit your form in person. We encourage you to enrol via the your Online Portal as you will receive the registration confirmation immediately.

2. Can I submit the enrolment form(s) by post?

Yes except LE and CPWP Module 1 Examination. We will process your application within four working days.

3. Can I submit the enrolment form by fax or email?

No.

4. Where can I download the examination enrolment form?

You can download the form from our website.

5. Is there any service / administration fee if I submit hard copy enrolment form(s) in person or by post?

Commencing 1 April 2018, we will charge an administration fee of HK$100 per application form.

Enrolment Confirmation
1. How do I know if my enrolment is successful?

You will receive a confirmation email which will be sent to your registered email address. You can also view your enrolled activity under “Upcoming Activity” in your Online Portal.

2. Can I request to send an additional confirmation to my second email address?

We only send one confirmation email to your registered email address as you can retrieve your enrolled activities from your Online Portal anytime and anywhere at your computer or mobile device. You however can forward the confirmation email to your other email address.

eCredit
1. Can I use the eCredit issued before 27 September 2017 via the Online Portal for enrolment of courses/events and/or renewal of membership?

No, the eCredit issued before 27 September 2017 must be submitted offline together with the registration form and/or membership renewal forms. Please also check the terms & conditions on the eCredit for its usage.

2. How can I check if any eCredit issued after 27 September 2017 has been assigned to me and its terms & conditions?

Please login onto your Online Portal and click on the “eCredit” to see the available eCredit. Each eCredit may have different terms & conditions, please click to view the “Terms & Conditions” of different eCredit.

3. How can I redeem the eCredit issued after 27 September 2017?

All the eCredit issued after 27 September 2017 can only be redeemed via the Online Portal. When you enrol in course/event and checkout at the “Shopping Cart”, the “Apply eCredit” button will appear on the course/event that is eligible to redeem eCredit. Please select the eCredit you would like to use and the payable amount will then be automatically calculated.

Payment and Receipt
1. What payment methods are accepted by the Online Portal?

For details of payment methods, please refer to Payment Methods.

2. Can I use a third party's credit card to settle the payment?

We strongly recommend that you DO NOT use another person’s credit card as disputes may arise.

3. Do I need to provide HKSI Institute corporate membership number of my company to enjoy the member rate?

No. When you enroll in our activities via the personal Online Portal and update your company information, member rates will be automatically applied in our activities.

4. I am a staff of a HKSI Institute Corporate Member but non-member fee is shown when I enrol for your activity. What should I do?

Please updated your company information via your Online Portal under Profile.

5. How can I get my official receipt?

You can download and print your official receipts for examination(s), training course(s) and/or event(s) enrolled on or after 27 September 2017 from your personalised Online Portal under “Receipt”.

Hardcopy receipt will only be issued upon request. Service / administration fee of $100 per copy will be charged.

6. Can I download or reprint the official receipt for examination(s), training course(s) or event(s) enrolled before 27 September 2017?

No. However we can reissue the Official Receipt(s) within six years from the date of the relevant examination(s), training course(s) or event(s) registered.  

Please submit a written request to us. Service / administration fee of $100 per copy will apply.

7. Can I change the participant name on the official receipt to my company name?

No. Receipt will only be issued to the registered person who enrols in our examinations, training courses or events.

Please send your change request to [email protected] if you need to change the name on the official receipt. Service / administration fee will apply.

8. Can I use the Hong Kong consumption voucher on HKSI Institute services?

Yes. You can make payment online or over our service counter by using AlipayHK and WeChat Pay HK. For the full range of our payment methods, click here.

Admission Form (for examination only)
1. How can I download my Admission Form if I take paper-based examination (PBE) session?

You can download and print the Admission Form under “Upcoming Activity” in your Online Portal which will be available on the following days

  • LE in Hong Kong, CPWP Module 1 Examination, MPF Intermediaries Examination, PRC Securities Regulations Examination: from 3 working days before the schedule PBE session to the examination date
  • CIIA Final Examination, CIWM Examination: from 6 working days before the schedule PBE session to the examination date

2. If I cannot access to my Online Portal, how can I print my Admission Form?

We can print the Admission Form upon request and you can collect on the examination date.

3. I have enrolled for the computer-based examination (CBE). Do I need to print the Admission Form?

No. You only need to bring your identification document and report to the CBE examination center on the scheduled date and time.

Attendance Record
1. How can I retrieve my activity (other than examination) and CPT attendance records?

You can retrieve your activity (other than examination) and CPT records from your personalised Online Portal under Record.

For Members, you can retrieve your records from 1 January 2015 onwards.

For non-Members, you can retrieve your records from the date when you activate your Online Portal (i.e. your first time login date).

2. How can I retrieve my activity and CPT records before 1 January 2015?

You can send your written request to [email protected] and we will arrange upon request. Service/administration fee will apply.

3. How can I print my activity or CPT attendance record in the Online Portal?

You can download and/or print your activity or CPT attendance record from the Online Portal under Record.

4. Will I get CPT/CPD hours for attending eCourse or eSeminar ?

You can get the qualified CPT/CPD hours when you have completed the eCourse or eSeminar and pass the post training assessment.

Examination Result and Certificate
1. What kind of examination records is available in the Online Portal?

You can retrieve all examination records after 1 January 2015 except for the result of PRC Securities Regulations Examination.

2. How can I print my notification of examination results and/or examination certificates in the Online Portal?

You can download and/or print your notification of examination result and examination certificates from “Record” for the examinations on or after 27 September 2017, except the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society Qualification Examination . There is no restriction in printing your examination result(s) and certificate(s).

3. When will the examination results be posted?
  • LE (Computer-based Examination (CBE)) in Hong Kong, CPWP Module 1 Examination (CBE), GSQE: Approximately 2 hours after the examination
  • LE (Paper-based Examination (PBE)) in Hong Kong, CPWP Module 1 Examination - Paper 1 (PBE): Approximately 8 working days after the examination
  • CPWP Module 1 Examination - Paper 2 (PBE): Approximately 10 weeks after the examination
  • LE in China, LE in Taiwan, LE in Macau: Approximately 14 working days after the examination
  • CIIA Final Examination/CIWM Examination: Approximately 3 months after the examination
  • MPF Intermediaries Examination: Approximately 7 working days after the examination
  • MPF Intermediaries Examination: Approximately 7 working days after the examination
  • TTC Examination: Approximately 1 month after the examination

4. How long will the notification of examination result and examination certificates be available in the Online Portal for download and/or print?

Within one year from the date of the respective examination you have taken.

5. How can I view my notification of examination result of the PRC Securities Regulations Examination?

Please visit Securities Association of China (SAC)'s website for your notification of examination result of the PRC Securities Regulations Examination.

6. How can I get my CIIA Final Examination/CIWM Examination Certificate?

We only issue hard copy of the CIIA Final Examination/CIWM Examination Certificate and will be available at our counter for collection.

7. How can I get my notification of examination result and examination certificates after one year of the examination date?

You can request for the Statement of Result. Service / administration fee will apply.

8. I took my examination before 2015. Can I get the notification of examination result or examination certificate?

You can request for the Statement of Result. Service / administration fee will apply.

9. How can I apply for the Statement of Result?

You may apply for a Statement of Results through the Online Portal under eForm within 6 years of the date of the relevant examination. We charge an administration fee of HK$200 per copy.

Reschedule / Transferal / Withdrawal
1. Can I transfer my examination enrolment to another person?

No. It is not allowed under our policy.

2. Can I transfer my enrolled activities to other activities or another person?

No. Activity enrolment and fees paid are usually non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. Can I reschedule the examination session?

No.

4. Can I withdraw my examination(s) registration and request for refund?

You can request for refund if you have applied to withdraw from LE or CPWP Module 1 examination registration before the withdrawal application deadline. We will charge an administration fee of HK$400 per examination paper per examination session.

No refund will be considered after the application deadline.

5. Can I withdraw my training course(s) or event(s) registration and request for refund?

You can withdraw from enrolled training course(s) or event(s) up to four working days before the date of the respective training course or event via the HKSI Institute Online Portal. Withdrawal does not apply to eCourses, eSeminars and certain training courses/events where indicated.

The HKSI Institute will charge a withdrawal fee of HK$100 or 40% of the training course or event fee, whichever is higher. The balance will be refunded to you within 28 working days after you have submitted the withdrawal request.

6. Where can I keep track of my withdrawal request?
Withdrawal records are shown under “Upcoming Activity” in the HKSI Institute Online Portal until the date of the examination or training course or event.

 

7. Do I receive any confirmation when I withdraw from an examination?

No. You can check the record on your Online Portal. Please view the video demo.

8. How can I get the refund if my withdrawal request is approved?

For Cash/EPS payment, we will refund in the form of a cheque. The cheque will be sent by registered mail to your registered address. Other acceptable payment methods, refund via same method as the payment is is made.  You may receive the refund within 28 working days depends on your payment method. Service / administration fee per transaction will apply.

Study Manual for Examinations
1. How can I download the study manuals?

Candidates who enrolled for the LE / CPWP Module 1 Examinations / GSQE can download the Study Manual via the “Upcoming Activity” page of the HKSI Institute Online Portal during the period from the enrolment date to the examination date of the relevant examinations.

2. Can I purchase eStudy Manuals before enrolling for the examinations?

Yes. In addition to the hardcopy study manuals for the LE / CPWP Module 1 Examination are available for sale at our counter. eStudy Manuals are also available for sale online.

LE Examination
1. Which LE paper do I have to take to apply for a licence?

This depends on the type of regulated activities (RA) you wish to carry out, and the position you wish to undertake (i.e. Representative or Responsible Officer). The relevant LE papers required are set out in the "LE and the SFC Licences for Regulated Activities" section on our website.

2. Which LE paper do I have to take if my employer is a bank?

It depends on the position you wish to undertake. For Relevant Individual defined by the Banking Ordinance, please refer to the requirements of LE papers on Representative. For Executive Officer defined by the Banking Ordinance, please refer to the requirements of LE papers on Responsible Officer.

3. Is there any exemption from certain LE Papers?

For SFC licensing purposes, applicants with the appropriate qualifications may seek an exemption for certain Papers. The "Guidelines on Competence" list the different qualifications recognised by the SFC and the exemptions granted.

To learn more about the SFC and its licensing policy, please visit the SFC website or contact the SFC directly.

For the HKSI Institute certification purposes, all LE candidates have three years to complete their combination of examination papers. The 3-year period will commence from the date of the first LE paper that the candidate passes. The HKSI Institute Practising/Specialist Certificates are issued to those who have completed their combination of papers of the LE.

Training and Event
1. If I have completed my eCourse or eSeminar, do I need to enrol again if I want to re-take the same eCourse or eSeminar?

You do not need to enrol the same eCourse or eSeminar again. However the access period is limited to 90 days unless stated otherwise. After 90 days, you are required to enrol again if you want to access the same eCourse or eSeminar.

Membership
1. How can I apply for HKSI Institute membership?

2. How can I renew my membership?

You will receive the renewal invitation when your membership subscription is about to expire. Please follow the instructions to renew through the Online Portal.

3. Can I renew my AIWM membership via my Online Portal?

No. This service is not available at the moment. You will receive a renewal notice email for renewal of both AIWM and HKSI Institute memberships. Please complete the form with dual membership payment and return to HKSI Institute.

4. My membership status is shown as inactive or expired. What should I do?

If your membership expired less than one year, you can renew your membership via the Online Portal.

Application for reinstatement is required if your membership expired for more than one year. Please email us at [email protected] or call us at 3120 6100 for details.

5. Can I apply for membership progression at my Online Portal?

No. Please visit Join Us for downloading the Member Progression Application Form (for progression to Associate/ Ordinary Membership) or Fellowship Application Form (for progression to Fellowship).

HKSI Institute Mobile
Where can I get the mobile app?

You can download the app "HKSI Institute Mobile" from the App Store or Google Play.

Can my phone support the mobile app?

The HKSI Institute Mobile is supported by iOS version 12 to 16 and Android OS version 10.0 to 13.0.

What features does the mobile app have

The HKSI Institute Mobile offers key features of our website version, including search, view and enrol in our activities, attend webinars and track your records at the HKSI Institute.

How do I log into the mobile app

Once you have installed the HKSI Institute Mobile, you can use your Online Portal username and password to log in.

Can I access eCourses using the mobile app

You can enrol in the eCourses through the app. However, we do not recommend viewing the content on mobile devices.

Can I use my eCredit for enrolment through the mobile app

Yes, you can. The use of eCredit through HKSI Institute Mobile is similar to its application through the Online Portal.
