Post-training Examination for the Core Curriculum of the Certification Programme for Virtual Asset Professionals (CVAP)
The Certification Programme for Virtual Asset Professionals (CVAP) is designed to build core competencies in virtual asset (VA) for financial services practitioners offering VA-related services. As the crucial part of the CVAP, the CVAP core curriculum impart essential knowledge in regulatory, industry, and product related topics through an eCourse with three fundamental modules and a post-training examination. The post-training examination assesses participants’ knowledge of the fundamental modules, ensuring they have acquired the essential knowledge related to VA. Participants who complete the programme within the designated timeframe will receive the Virtual Asset Fundamentals Certificate, recognising their proficiency in virtual asset fundamentals.

Participants who have enrolled in the CVAP Core Curriculum and completed the eCourse with three fundamental modules by the designated deadline are eligible to sit for the Post-Training Examination.
Participants must schedule and choose any available examination session within 90 days of completing the eCourse*.
For Examination Retakes
Participants may retake the examination within one year of enrolling in the CVAP Core Curriculum and are not required to retake the eCourse.
* Participants who enrolled in the CVAP core curriculum on or before 15 December 2025 must complete the eCourse and schedule their examination before the designated deadline as displayed in their Online Portal or HKSI Institute Mobile App.
Retake Examination Fees:
- At Hong Kong Examination Centre: HKD1,500 per attempt
- At Global Examination Centre: HKD1,920 per attempt

The examination is based on the latest training materials of the CVAP core curriculum, including the eCourese and all supplementary study materials. Estimated study time, including a review of the eCourse and relevant study materials, is approximately 18 hours, depending on the participant's professional background and prior experience.
Participants retaking the examination can access the latest study materials, including the training deck or study notes (if available), via the Online Portal and HKSI Institute Mobile app.
Note: The eCourse is not available to participants retaking the examination.
