Programme Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the financial services industry, offering significant opportunities for innovation while raising important questions regarding ethics, accountability, risk management and responsible implementation. Developed by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the award-winning Certificate in Ethical Artificial Intelligence programme provides a comprehensive introduction to the ethical, risk and management considerations surrounding the development and deployment of AI in financial services.
Written by experts for financial services practitioners, the programme combines interactive content, videos, interviews, readings and assessments that learners can complete online at their own pace. It comprises FIVE assessed eCourses and a supplementary Additional Resources module, providing a structured learning pathway covering:
- AI concepts and terminology;
- ethical principles and professional conduct;
- AI-related risk management;
- strategic planning and governance; and
- the practical implementation and management of AI.
The complete certificate programme involves approximately 12 hours of learning. Upon successful completion of the five assessed modules, eligible learners may obtain up to 8.5 SFC CPT hours*.

- Learners who complete the 3-in-1 package may subsequently enrol in the remaining modules. However, the full certificate will only be awarded after all programme requirements have been completed.

Ethical AI and Professional Codes of Conduct 2.0 Risk Management in AI 2.0 Strategic Approaches to AI 1.5 Tactical Development of AI 1.5 - Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded the corresponding SFC CPT hours qualified.
- The Additional Resources are included exclusively in the Full Certificate Package and are not available for separate enrolment.
Assessment and Certificate Requirements
- To obtain the "CISI Certificate in Ethical Artificial Intelligence", learners MUST enrol in the Full Certificate Package, complete the modular content and assessments to satisfy the certificate requirements outlined below.
- 20 multiple-choice questions;
- a pass mark of 75%; and
- a maximum of TWO attempts*, and no further attempt after an assessment has been passed.
(*Note: If BOTH assessment attempts are unsuccessful, learners will need to repurchase the applicable module before retaking its assessment.)
- To obtain the "CISI Certificate in Ethical Artificial Intelligence", learners MUST satisfy ALL of the following requirements:
- complete all five assessed modules;
- pass the mandatory online assessment for each module; and
- complete the Additional Resources.
- Learners completing the "3-in-1" package OR individual modules will receive the applicable SFC CPT hours upon successful completion. However, they will not be eligible for the CISI Certificate in Ethical Artificial Intelligence until all programme requirements have been fulfilled.
