CPWP Bridging Programme Post-training Examination

          

The Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) Bridging Programme is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) and Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) is designed for holders of Certified Retail Wealth Professional (CRWP) Certification to equip them with the technical and product knowledge as well as ethics and compliance aspect in the context of private wealth management. 

Upon completion, the CPWP Bridging Programme participants are equivalent to passing the existing CPWP Examinations of Module 1 (Paper 1) and Module 2. They only need to pass the CPWP Module 1 (Paper 2) Examination to fulfil the examination requirement prior to applying for the CPWP / CPWP Associate (CPWPA) Certification

The CPWP Bridging programme consisting of two mandatory training modules followed by a post-training examinationCandidates must attend all the units of each Module 1 and Module 2 training course in order to be eligible to sit for the examination. 

The CPWP Bridging Programme is an eligible training programme under the Financial Incentive Scheme of the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector (“WAM Pilot Programme”), available until 31 March 2026. Participants eligible under the WAM Pilot Programme can apply for reimbursement of 80% of the programme fee upon passing the post-training examination. Participants eligible under the WAM Pilot Programme can apply for reimbursement of 80% of the programme fee upon successful completion of the training and passing the post-training examination.

Notes:

  1. Applicants cannot sit the examination if they are unable to meet the enrolment prerequisites for the examination*. All fees paid are non-transferable and non-refundable.

    The retake examination is scheduled for 9 October 2025, approximately one month after the initial examination. Enrolment for the retake will be open the day after the initial examination.

Study Support
  • The CPWP Bridging Programme Post-training Examination will be based on the course materials from the latest CPWP Bridging Programme training course.
  • Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the course materials for their own records, if necessary. No course materials will be provided to candidates who only re-enrol for the CPWP Bridging Programme Post-training Examination.
Certificate
  • Upon completing the CPWP Bridging Programme (i.e. completing the training modules and passing the post-training examination), candidates will obtain a certificate.
  • A certificate of completion for the CPWP Bridging Programme will be jointly awarded by the HKSI Institute and HKIB to the programme participants who completed the two training modules and passed the post-training examination. The certificate holder is equivalent to passing the existing CPWP Examinations of Module 1 (Paper 1) and Module 2.
  • The Certificate will be available in the Online Portal approximately eight working days after the examination date. 
Examination Retake
Prerequisites

The CPWP Bridging Programme participants are eligible to re-enrol for the post-training examination within three years from the date of his/her first examination, if they have:

  • not passed the examination; and
  • completed all Module 1 and Module 2 of CPWP Bridging Programme.

If candidates fail the examination on their first attempt and wish to apply for WAM reimbursement, they must retake and pass the examination within one month.  For details of reimbursement, please refer to the FAQs section.
