Introduction of Private Wealth Management Industry

Overview

This course consists of two modules. It provides an overview of the rapidly evolving PWM industry, encompassing the business models adopted, the roles and responsibilities of participants, and the various needs of customers throughout their life cycles and the ways in which these may be satisfied.

Objective

On completing this course, you should be able to:
a. Understand the main business models for private wealth managers;
b. Understand the role and responsibility of a private wealth practitioner;
c. Examine Know Your Customer (“KYC”) and suitability in fulfilling the responsibility of a private wealth practitioner;
d. Recognise the needs and preferences of HNWIs and UHNWIs;
e. Understand how stages of the HNWI wealth cycle can affect the demand for different products and services; and
f. Understand how family offices and other PWM vehicles may be used to managed investments or hold assets.
