[Webinar] Creating Business Value with ESG

Overview

ESG is a complex ecosystem in which entities are scored on various issues that significantly impact their business. In November last year, a further update was made, indicating the need for TCFD-aligned climate-related disclosures by 2025. These include governance, strategy, risk management, metrics and targets related to climate actions.

In response to China’s 2060 carbon neutrality targets, Hong Kong government has launched its Climate Action Plan 2050 aiming for net zero emissions by 2050. The goal is to reduce electricity consumption in commercial buildings by 15 – 20% and residential buildings by 10-15% by 2035, and thereafter 30-40% and 20-30%, respectively by 2050.

It is essential for all those involved in the property sector to have a clear sustainability strategy with a defined set of objectives and that disclosure of progress is done according to credible and widely used standards and frameworks. It is equally important for investors and asset owners to understand their ESG strategy and how it help create value to the assets / investment properties.
