As interest in socially responsible investing (SRI) has grown, the market for green assets has expanded rapidly. Today, green assets include a wide range of debt instruments and new types of labeled assets are emerging regularly. However, a lack of clear global standards for defining and categorizing these assets poses a challenge for investors. Global and national efforts are underway to enhance green asset standards and reporting.
