This is Unit 21 of the "Trust Training Certificate" ("TTC") (version 2.0) training programme.
This eCourse is prepared based on the recorded version of the webinar session held on 17 October 2024. For participants who plan to take the TTC Part B Stream 1/2 Examination at a later date, you should ensure you read the study guide and materials provided via the examination enrolment link.

Objective
On completion of this eCourse, you will:
1. understand all key aspects of the MPF system and MPF schemes, including:
- List the basic rules and provisions for MPF schemes,
- Explain the different types of MPF schemes,
- Describe the licensing and compliance requirements of MPF schemes and Trustees,
- Understand the role and licensing and requirements for Custodians, Sponsors, Intermediaries, Investment Products),
- Describe the reporting requirements under TCSP, FATCA, and CRS,
- Explain the tax arrangements on MPF schemes and contributions, and
2. compare with other mandatory pension plans internationally (Singapore and Australia).
Content
This Module covers the mandatory MPF schemes established under a trust structure and the regulatory and reporting requirements for schemes, trustees, and sponsors/employers:
1. The Module first explains the background of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (“MPF”) system;
2. Information regarding the types, structures, restrictions, and key operators of MPF schemes; and
3. Comparison with other mandatory pension plans internationally.

This course is primarily designed for individuals who are interested in obtaining the "Trust Training Certificate" to qualify for the Hong Kong Trustees' Association Certified Trust Practitioner™ designation.
