伍女士是劍橋大學法律文學碩士，並取得英國及香港的律師資格。
伍女士現為團結香港基金顧問、世界自然(香港)基金會董事會成員、政策研究組織Aspen Institute的會員、金融學院會員及香港證券及投資學會的傑出資深會員。她曾於2014年12月至2022年12月期間出任香港證券及投資學會董事局成員，並於2018年12月至2021年12月期間擔任主席。
