HKSI Institute Announces Board of Directors for the New Term
Hong Kong, 10 December: The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) today announced its Board of Directors for the new term and the re-appointment of Ms Katherine Ng as the Chairman of the Board.
At its 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, all resolutions set out in the AGM Notice were duly approved by Members. Mr Graham Cottingham and Miss Angelina Kwan were re-elected as Board Directors, and Mr Kevin Liem was elected as a new Board Director. Each director shall serve a three-year term.
Ms Katherine Ng has served on the HKSI Institute Board since December 2014 and the coming year would mark her third term as Chairman. She is the Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Policy of the Listing Department of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). Prior to joining HKEX in 2013, Ms Ng had served as Political Assistant to the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Government; worked in an international investment bank; and was a private practice lawyer with an international law firm in Hong Kong and London. Currently, Ms Ng is a Director of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong, an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation, a fellow of the Aspen Institute and a Member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance.
“I am honoured to accept the mandate of the Board to serve as Chairman for another year. 2020 has been a challenging year, underscored by the COVID-19 pandemic and how we, the HKSI Institute, rise to the challenge to re-invent and re-position our service offerings to best serve our Members and practitioners’ professional development needs,” said Ms Katherine Ng. “As we continue to drive the Institute’s strategic priorities, I look forward to working closely with my fellow Board Directors, Members and partners in achieving new milestones and successes,” she added.
“The Board also wishes to thank the three retired Directors – Mr Paul Day, Mr Victor Lee and Mr Louis Mak for their wise counsel and contributions throughout these past six years, and we look to them for their continued support of the HKSI Institute,” said Ms Ng.
The Appendix below sets out the HKSI Institute Board of Directors for the new term. It comprises thirteen directors of whom three directors are appointed by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), and ten directors elected by its Members. The Board of Directors comprises members from different business sectors across the financial services-related industry, including from the academia, corporate finance, fund management, futures, investment analysis, and securities sectors.
