HKSI Institute Announces Board of Directors for the New Term
Hong Kong, 15 December: The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) today announced its Board of Directors for the new term and the re-appointment of Mr Colin Shaftesley as Chairman of the Board for another one-year term.
At its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Mr Dickson Chan, Mr Ken Lo, and Mr Foster Yim were elected as new Board Directors for a three-year term and all resolutions set out in the AGM Notice were duly approved by Members.
Mr Colin Shaftesley, Partner of Financial Services Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong, is a Senior Fellow of the HKSI Institute and has served on the HKSI Institute Board since December 2009, amongst which, six years as a Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) appointee and 2022 as Chairman. He has more than 30 years’ experience in audits, internal control reviews, fraud investigations, registration matters and regulation in Hong Kong. In addition, he is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

As we celebrate the Institute’s 25th anniversary this year, we also want to pay tribute to our Members for our achievements today and reaffirm our commitment in serving the industry and playing a key role to maintain Hong Kong’s position as a premier international financial centre,” said Mr Colin Shaftesley.
“The Board wishes to thank the four retiring Directors – Mr David Chau, Mr Christopher Lee, Ms Katherine Ng and Mr Samuel Tsang for their invaluable counsel and contributions throughout their tenure, and we look forward to their continued support of the Institute,” added Mr Shaftesley.
The Institute also welcomes the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)’s reappointment of Mr Eric Ho, Director of Licensing, Intermediaries of the SFC and Mr Jeremy Lam, Partner and Head of Financial Services Practice of Deacons to the Board, and the new appointment of Dr Gordon Tsui, Permanent Honorary President and Director of Hong Kong Securities Association. The Appendix below sets out the HKSI Institute Board of Directors for the new term – 15 directors of whom 3 directors are appointed by the SFC and 12 directors elected by its Members. The Board of Directors comprises members from different business sectors across the financial services-related industry, from academia, corporate finance, fund management, futures, investment analysts, and securities sectors.
