Dear Member,

As previously advised on the HKSI Institute website and online portal, our servers were affected by malware on 1 April 2019.  In response, we protected HKSI Institute’s systems by immediately disconnecting from public networks which resulted in the temporary suspension of all online services.  Online services were partially resumed on 4 April and fully resumed on 12 April.  We deeply apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

To date our investigation has revealed that there is no harm to the HKSI Institute other than the service disruption mentioned and are pleased to advise that there is no evidence of any data leakage.  Please be assured that we take the protection of your personal information very seriously and should we become aware of any data being compromised, we will notify members immediately.  If you are aware of any unrecorded activities or updates on your portal, have any concern or need assistance, please contact us at +852 3120-6100 or email to [email protected].

The investigation continues and we will comprehensively review IT security and data security protocols to ensure that we have a robust and secure infrastructure.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the HKSI Institute.

Yours sincerely

Ruth Kung
