Overview
This eSeminar is a recorded session of the "Stablecoins & the Future of Financial Services" webinar held on 18 September 2025.
During this session, Mr Robert Lui, Hong Kong Digital Asset Leader and Audit & Assurance Partner at Deloitte China and Board Director of the HKSI Institute, introduces the transformative role of stablecoins within the digital asset ecosystem. He talks about the evolving roles of intermediaries and key risk considerations, including AML, data protection and cyber risks. Key topics include stablecoin fundamentals, global and Hong Kong regulatory frameworks, and financial applications such as cross-border payments and tokenisation of real-world assets.

Overseeing Deloitte’s digital asset and Web3 program in Hong Kong, Robert works closely with regulators, trading platforms, custodians, and asset managers on licensing, compliance review, and security token offering projects.
With over 20 years of professional experience, he has led over 50 IPO engagements with corporations in a broad range of industries from consumer to real estate to technology, while providing audit & assurance, digitalisation, and mergers & acquisition services to listed companies and growth enterprises.
As a Member of the HKSAR Government’s Task Force on Promoting Web3 Development, Robert plays an active role in supporting the growth of Hong Kong’s digital asset and Web3 ecosystem.
Robert serves as a Board Director of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.
