[Webinar] Asset Management Industry: The Year 2025 and Beyond

Overview

The Asia-Pacific region has emerged as the fastest-growing area for asset pool expansion, positioning Asset Management (AM) as one of the most dynamic sectors within financial services. Leveraging its strategic location and well-established financial infrastructure, Hong Kong continues to serve as a premier platform for capitalising on opportunities shaped by favourable macroeconomic conditions. To remain competitive, AM practitioners must deepen their understanding of both local and global developments, stay abreast of industry trends, and broaden their service offerings to meet evolving market demands and unlock new avenues for growth.

Through analytic review of the 2025 industry performance, facilitated discussion of selected case studies and sharing views of the industry trends, the participants will be able to plan ahead and address the potential challenges in 2026.

Who should attend

This course primarily targets experienced AM industry practitioners.

Financial Incentive Scheme of the WAM Pilot Programme

This course has already been approved as an eligible course of the Financial Incentive Scheme for Professional Training (“the Scheme”) under the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector (“the Pilot Programme”). The Scheme aims to enhance the competency and professionalism of in-service practitioners within the asset and wealth management sector and to assist other practitioners within the financial services industry in acquiring the knowledge and skills required for entering the sector. Eligible applicants will be subsidised 80% of the course fees by the HKSAR Government upon satisfactory completion of the courses approved by Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, subject to a ceiling of HK$15,000. Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute is appointed as the implementation agent of the Pilot Programme. Regarding the details of eligible criteria and application procedures, please refer to the dedicated web-site of the Pilot Programme (https://www.wamtalent.org.hk/).

[Important Notes]

[Financial Incentive Scheme] Application Deadline: As the Scheme will conclude on 31 March 2026, the Scheme will cease accepting applications in an orderly manner.  The Scheme will not accept reimbursement applications for courses completed after 31 December 2025, and All reimbursement applications submitted after 31 January 2026 will not be accepted. Applicants are reminded to follow the submission requirements outlined in “Guide to Applicants” to submit the application and upload all the required supporting documents at the online application portal, as well as submit the printed duly-signed application form along with a copy of the Hong Kong Identity Card to the HKSI Institute’s office within four months from the course completion date or by 31 January 2026 (whichever is earlier). For the avoidance of doubt, all applications for courses completed between 1 October 2025 and 31 December 2025 (both dates inclusive) must be submitted by 31 January 2026Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Speaker/Course Instructor

Daniel JIM
Mr Jim started his career in Europe and was instrumental in supporting major European institutions' first investments into Chinese equities. He subsequently founded one of the first home-grown independent investment management firms in Greater China, focusing on alternative investment strategies.

Over the years, Mr Jim has established himself as one of Asia's pioneers in global hedge fund investments, conducted due diligence on more than 5,000 and allocated to over 100 funds. Mr Jim has been lecturing at the Institute for 20 years on topics ranging from hedge fund to asset management and is currently also a Part-time Lecturer at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

Daniel earned his Bachelor and Master degrees at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and SDA Bocconi in Milan, respectively, upon graduating from St. Joseph’s College in Hong Kong.
