[Webinar] Effective Management and Control of Trust Assets

Overview
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has issued the Supervisory Policy Manual (SPM) module TB-1: “Regulation and Supervision of Trust Business” in 2022.
This is a joint webinar hosted by the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) and the Hong Kong Trustees' Association (HKTA), aiming to help market practitioners effectively apply the Conduct Requirement Principle 3 by deepening their understanding of what this conduct requirement entails.
Objective
By the end of this seminar, training participants will be:
• reminded the importance of the code on management and control of trust assets as outlined under Principle 3, and
• able to tell how to apply the code’s requirements in real-life trustee scenarios.

The joint webinar will use quiz/polling questions and panel discussion to bring in certain level of discussion from different perspectives to increase participant’s engagement throughout the training.
Who should attend
• Staff of HKMA-authorised institutions or their subsidiaries that conduct trust business in Hong Kong.
• Senior management, including directors, ROs, MICs, and compliance officers overseeing trust business.

Speaker/Course Instructor
Christy is a seasoned trustee professional with over 20 years of experience in the securities services industry, specializing in a wide spectrum of fund products, including pension products, public and private funds, and Cayman funds. At Standard Chartered, Christy oversees a comprehensive range of trustee and fiduciary services globally, spanning more than 15 fiduciary markets, including Hong Kong, in which her expertise covers the Mandatory Provident Fund scheme, Approved Pooled Investment Fund, ORSO pension funds, SFC funds, tokenized funds, and other fund products.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Christy served as the Head of Trustee at China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited and held leadership positions at Cititrust Limited.
She sits on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association Limited. Christy is also a certified public accountant in Hong Kong, a fellow member of ACCA, and holds a Master of Laws in International Economic Law.
Circle Yeung has been with HSBC for more than 20 years. She is also the CEO of HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Asia) Limited, which is regulated by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Mandatory Provident Fund Authority (MPFA)..
Prior to her current role, Circle held various senior customer?facing roles within our Securities Services business line and has a wealth of experience in the securities services industry, including the pensions and asset manager sectors..
Circle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Southern California, USA, and an LLB (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University. She is a Chartered MCSI member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and serves on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association.
