This course covers the specifics relating to Virtual Assets (VA) custody service, and the key aspects to ensure that VAs held in custody are adequately safeguarded and that the risks involved are properly managed.

Note: This course is an elective module in the Certification Programme for Virtual Asset Professionals (CVAP). Participants must complete TWO elective modules. If you have not enrolled in another elective, please refer to the 'Elective Modules' section on the programme page for a list of available options. The CVAP Core Curriculum must be completed BEFORE taking any elective module. Enrolment for this course opens on 15 May 2025.

Objective

By completing the course, you will be able to:
a. explain the importance of VA custody and how it differs from traditional custody;
b. describe the role and obligations of custodial service providers;
c. describe the key technologies and infrastructure of VA custody, its common risks and security challenges;
d. tell the regulatory requirements regarding VA custody and custodial services in Hong Kong.
