Overview
This eCourses consists of two modules. Module 1 describes the basics of the main grains and oilseeds (namely corn, soybeans, and wheat) traded on global markets, as well as some popular hedging and trading applications for these commodities. As with most agricultural commodities, grains and oilseeds are characterized by strong supply and demand fundamentals. These fundamentals are examined in detail throughout this module.
Module 2 describes the basics of cattle and lean hogs, the two main types of livestock traded on global commodity markets, as well as some popular hedging and trading applications for these commodities. Objective
On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the basics of the main grain and oilseeds, and main types of livestock traded on global markets
- Recognize the supply and demand fundamentals in trading grain and oilseeds, and livestock commodities
- Explain hedging and trading applications for these commodities
