HKSI Institute Launches Global Examination Centres and Remote Proctoring Options to Enhance Accessibility

Hong Kong, 25 April 2025: The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI Institute) today announces the launch of two new examination options.  Alongside the Hong Kong Examination Centre, candidates can now opt for in-person examinations at over 300 global centres across seven countries or choose remote live-proctored examinations.  This initiative aims to enhance accessibility for local and international candidates without the need to travel to Hong Kong for examinations.

The new options will initially be available for the Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries (LE) with special arrangement to ensure a smooth launch:

  • Global Centres: in Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States, on workdays during the first seven days of each month commencing from 1 May 2025.
  • Remote live-proctored examination: every Monday and Friday commencing from 9 May 2025.

“The launch of global examination centres and remote live-proctored examination options could provide flexibility and save costs and time for most overseas examination candidates”, said Mr Kevin Liem, Chairperson of the HKSI Institute.  “We believe that this initiative will enable us to expand our talent development programmes to attract market practitioners and students outside of Hong Kong,” he added.

“All examination options meet the same standards as those at our Hong Kong Examination Centre, ensuring fairness for all candidates.  Candidates opting for remote live-proctored examination should carefully review the technical and venue setup requirements before enrolment,” stated Mr Robert Lui, Board Director of HKSI Institute and Chairperson of the Examination Committee.  He added, "We plan to expand our services by including all examination papers and increasing examination sessions within 12 months where possible."
