ASIF Forum Foundation Session – Digital Currencies

The Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), in partnership with the ASIF, will hold a webinar as part of the ASIF Forum series on Digital Currencies - Innovation and Impact on Society.

FINSIA will host the first webinar in the series, providing participants with an understanding of the foundations of digital currencies in preparation for more in-depth sessions.

The webinar will look at:

• A short history of digital currencies – from Digicash (1990) to Bitcoin (2009).
• Types of digital assets – cryptocurrencies, stable coins, utility tokens, non-fungible tokens.
• Cryptocurrency exchanges and decentralised finance.
• Cryptocurrency custody and storage.
• Regulatory issues for the finance sector including AML/CTF compliance.
