“The HKSI Institute Case Competition exemplifies our commitment to cultivating regional talent by empowering students with the necessary skills, experiences, and opportunities to chart their future with confidence,” said Mr Kevin Liem, Chairperson of the HKSI Institute. “We are grateful for the tremendous support from our Lead Sponsor, Grant Thornton Hong Kong Limited, and all participating universities and corporations for fostering students’ enthusiasm for meaningful engagement in the competition and creating a conducive environment for their development,” he added.
Mr Chris Tang, Programme Chairperson of the Case Competition 2025 highlighted the high calibre of participants, “The judges were impressed by the comprehensive and innovative proposals developed by the finalists, each grounded in practical implementation for Hong Kong. We were privileged to have a record 23 Project Sponsors as coaches, who generously shared their professional insights on the crucial topic of sustainability. This strong response enabled us to accommodate more student participants, reflecting a 78% increase in participation this year. I am also pleased to hear positive feedback from students about how this experience has significantly enhanced their critical thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills.”
In the multi-stage competition, each Project Sponsor selected the best-performing team from their group to advance to the semi-finals, where students submitted their case studies for evaluation. The top five teams competed in a final panel interview on 3 April 2025. Beyond cash prizes for semi-finalists and finalists, all participants receive a complimentary one-year HKSI Institute Student Membership, providing discounted access to essential courses and qualification examinations for career development in the financial services industry.
