ACFE Hong Kong Chapter - Hybrid Seminar - “Forensic Handwriting Examination in Practice”
Continuing from the previous ACFEHK seminar presented in Feb 2025 on the introduction to “Forensic Document Examination” & “Forensic Handwriting analysis”, this talk gives a deeper dive into the actual practice of forensic handwriting examination.
The presenter will discuss the requirements of control samples for forensic handwriting analysis in terms of (i) quantity, (ii) quality, (iii) contemporaneousness, and (iv) the use of requested specimens, and their impacts on expert’s opinion.
Moreover, the importance of examining the original documents as opposed to copied documents will be covered. The differences in the features of pen-strokes, ink-jet printing, laser printing, and stamp impressions will be presented and demonstrated.
