Calculator and Dictionary Policy

Use of Electronic Calculators

  1. The use of calculator is allowed for the following examinations:
    • Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries (LE) Papers 7 - 12
    • Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) Examination Module 1
    • Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) Final Examination
  2. Candidates may bring their own electronic calculators, provided the models are approved by the HKSI Institute.
  3. An onscreen calculator is provided by default in the examination system for Computer-based Examinations.
  4. Approved calculator models are updated annually and listed on the HKSI Institute website. For the Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) Final Examination, please refer to the list here.

Use of Dictionaries (applicable to the CIIA Final Examination Only)

  1. CIIA candidates may use non-thematic translation dictionaries to translate between a foreign language and the examination language, without any annotations. Financial and thematic dictionaries are not allowed.
