2014 Dr Eddy C Fong, FHKSI (Hon)
Dr Eddy Fong, GBS, JP, was Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (2006 to 2012) and is currently Chairman of the Council of The Open University of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Process Review Panel in relation to the Regulation of Mandatory Provident Fund Intermediaries, and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank (HK) Ltd.

Dr Fong has been an active corporate citizen as well. His past public duties include being a director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited, a director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, a director of the Exchange Fund Investment Limited, a member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, a member of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, and a Council member of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

2013 The Hon Ronald Arculli, FHKSI (Hon)
The Hon Ronald Arculli, GBM, CVO, GBS, OBE, JP, a barrister by profession, has helped further the development of Hong Kong’s securities industry. He is the Senior Partner of the Hong Kong office of King & Wood Mallesons, which is one of the largest law firms in Mainland China and the region. He is also the Chairman of the FWD Group, a Hong Kong-based insurer.

Mr Arculli has a distinguished record of public service, and was the Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in 2006–2012 and the Hong Kong Jockey Club (2002–2006). He was also the Chairman (2010–2012) and Board Member (2008–2012) of the World Federation of Exchanges.

In addition, Mr Arculli was a Non-Official Member (2005–2012) and later appointed as Convenor of the Non-Official Members (2011–2012) of the Executive Council of the HKSAR Government. Prior to that, he was a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (1988–2000).

2012 Mr Andrew LT SHENG, FHKSI (Hon)
Mr Sheng is a veteran central banker and financial market regulator in Asia. He has been working in many prestigious organisations including the SFC in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, China Banking Regulatory Commission, the World Bank, and the Bank Negara Malaysia. He is currently the President of The Fung Global Institute, which is a non-profit and independent think-tank and learning institute that generates and disseminates new thinking from Asian perspectives on issues that are transforming the global economy.

Mrs Laura M CHA, FHKSI (Hon)
Mrs Laura M Cha, GBS, JP, is a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong SAR and Deputy Chairman of The HSBC Asia Pacific. She is also a Board Director of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd since 2006. Mrs Cha was the Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) from 2001 to 2004. Prior to her post at the CSRC, she worked at Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission from 1991 to early 2001, becoming its Deputy Chairman in 1998.

Dr CHENG WK, Edgar, FHKSI (Hon)
As our founding Chairman of HKSI, Dr Edgar Cheng has made commendable contributions in several career fields of medicine, public service and business and finance - in the United States and Hong Kong over the past thirty-five years. Apart from Dr Cheng's academic career and public service, he had been in many key positions of financial market.

Mr Paul Chow is one the key figures that has helped shape the development of Hong Kong financial industry. His commendable contribution to the industry, especially in supporting the development of HKEx, is well recognised.

A Fascinating Mind
Mr Anthony Neoh has played a significant role in helping the development of the financial systems in both Hong Kong and China over the past two decades. He has been the chairman of the Hong Kong SFC and chief advisor to the CSRC. He is also a founding member of the Institute.
2007 Mr Gordon JONES, FHKSI (Hon)
The Honorary Registrar
Mr Gordon Jones retired recently as the Registrar of Companies having served Hong Kong for 34 years. HKSI is recognising his contribution to commerce by awarding him an Honorary Fellowship.

The Appointment of the First HKSI
Honorary Fellow

The HKSI Honorary Fellowship is intended for individuals having made significant contribution to the financial community. Mr Charles Lee, GBS, JP, the Independent Non-executive Chairman of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, was formally inducted as the first HKSI Hon Fellow during the annual Autumn Dinner held on 20 October 2005.

 

In recognition of the longstanding support and continuous contribution of HKSI members to the Hong Kong financial industry, the Institute introduced the HKSI Fellowship (FHKSI) in 2003 for senior members to pursue in parallel with their status and prestige in the Institute and industry.
