A1. What is HKSI Institute Online Portal?

A new one-stop service online portal (Online Portal) consists of our website, personalised web portal, advanced learning platform and online enrolment system.

  • allow you to choose your preferred learning solutions (e.g. classroom, eCourse, webinar, eSeminar, learning bites)
  • enable you to take courses at your own pace
  • enable you to manage your CPT requirements
  • allow you to access to the latest regulatory and industry information

Progress

The personalised web portal will facilitate our young members and practitioners to take charge of their career progression through our talent grooming programmes or new professional qualification programmes.

A3. What is ALP?

ALP refers to Advanced Learning Platform which is part of our new one-stop service online portal.   It provides you the flexibility to access various types of technology based learning solutions anytime, anywhere and at your own pace.  It also enables you to manage your CPT requirement and retrieve your examination and CPT records anytime.

B. HKSI Institute Online Portal User Account

B1. If I am HKSI Institute member, do I need to apply for the user account of the Online Portal? If so, how to apply?

No because your user account has been set up.  You only need to activate your user account by completing the first time login procedures.

B2. If I am not HKSI Institute member, do I need to apply for the user account of the Online Portal? If so, how to apply?

Starting from 27 September 2017, if you want to enrol for examinations, training course or events, you need to create an user account before enrolment.  Once created, you can access to your personalised portal anytime and anywhere.

B3. If I already have an examination ebooking online login ID, do I need to apply for an user account of the Online Portal?

You need to activate your user account because the Online Portal login ID is different from the examination ebooking online login.

B4. If I don't have any email address, can I still create an user account?

No.  You need to have a valid email address to create an user account.  Otherwise you are unable to use our online services.

B5. Can I use a third party’s email address to create an user account?

Due to security reasons and protection of your own interests, you are strongly recommended to use your own email address.

B6. Can I use my home country identify card to apply for an user account?

Only valid Hong Kong Identity Card, Passport or other acceptable travel documents with a photo can be used.

B7. How can I access to my Online Portal?

It is very easy to access to your Online Portal:

  1. Activate or create an user account (once only)
  2. Complete the 5-step first-time login procedures by creating user name and password (once only)
  3. Log-in your Online Portal using your user name and password
B8. Why can’t I login to my Online Portal after I have registered?

This may be caused by one of the following reasons:

  • the first-time login procedure may not be properly carried out
  • you have not created your user name and/or password
  • you have not activated your account within 72 hours after the “first-time login link” email is sent to your registered email address
  • your user name and/or password do not match with our record

B9. What should I do if I do not receive the first-time login link email?

A “first-time login link” email should be sent to your registered email address upon successful registration.  If not, please check

  • your registered email address is correct
  • your junk/spam mail folder

 Otherwise you can email us at support@hksi.org for assistance.

B10. What should I do if I forgot my Online Portal login password?

Please click the “Forgot Password” function and reset your password.

B11. What should I do if I forgot my login username or email address?

Please email us at support@hksi.org with your daytime contact information.

B12. If I am HKSI Institute Online Portal account user, am I also the HKSI Institute Member?

No.  Although both HKSI Institute Members and non-Members have their own personalised Online Portal once they have registered and activated their accounts, non-Members do not enjoy the special benefits offered to our members nor access to Member Only activities or information. 

For non-Member, you can apply for individual or corporate membership by completing and submitting the application form together with the required supporting documents.  Please click here for detailed Membership information and application procedures.

B13. Can I access to my Online Portal to enrol courses or examinations, retrieve my records or access to my eCourse while I am travelling?

Yes.  You can access to your Online Portal anytime and anywhere using your computer or mobile devices.

B14. Can I request to delete my Online Portal account permanently?

Yes.  Please email us at support@hksi.org.

C.Profile

C1. Can I change my personal information?

Yes.  You can change or update your personal information, except your name, HKID / Passport information and date of birth, at any time via your personalised Online Portal under “Profile”.

D. Payment and Receipt

D1. What payment methods are accepted by the Online Portal?

We accept VISA Card, MasterCard, American Express Card, PPS, PayPal and Union Pay.

D2. Can I use a third party's credit card to settle the payment?

We strongly recommend that you DO NOT use another person’s credit card as disputes may arise. 

D3. How can I get my official receipt?

You can download and print your official receipts for examination(s), training course(s) and/or event(s) enrolled on or after 27 September 2017 from your personalised Online Portal under “Receipt”. 

Hardcopy receipt will only be issued upon request.  Service / administration fee of $100 per copy will be charged.

D4. How can I download or reprint the official receipt for examination(s) enrolled before 27 September 2017?

LE or CPWP Module 1 Examination candidates can download and/or print their Official Receipts for examination(s) enrolled on or after 16 November 2009 in the old eBooking system until 31 March 2018. 

Please submit a written request for Official Receipt(s) within six years of the date of the relevant examination(s) under any of the following situations:

  1. LE examination(s) enrolled before 16 November 2009;
  2. Examination(s) other than LE / CPWP;
  3. LE or CPWP examination(s) enrolled during the period between16 November 2009 and 26 September 2017 and request for an official receipt after 31 March 2018.

Please send your written request to info@hksi.org.  Service / administration fee of HK$100 per copy will be charged.

D5. Can I download or reprint the official receipt for training course(s) or event(s) enrolled before 27 September 2017?

No.  However we can reissue the Official Receipt(s) within six years from the enrolment date of the training course(s) or event(s) registered upon written request.  

Written request should be sent to info@hksi.org.  Service / administration fee will apply.

D6. Can I change the participant name on the official receipt to my company name?

No.  Receipt will only be issued to the registered person who enrols in our examinations, training courses or events.  

Please send your change request to info@hksi.org if you need to change the name on the official receipt.  Service / administration fee will apply.

D7. Can I withdraw my examination(s) registration and request for refund?

You can request for refund if you have applied to withdraw from LE or CPWP Module 1 examination registration before the withdrawal application deadline.  We will charge an administration fee of HK$400 per examination paper per examination session.

 No refund will be considered after the application deadline.

D8. Can I withdraw my training course(s) or event(s) registration and request for refund?

Withdrawal from training course(s) or event(s) requires special approval.  If you need to withdraw from the training course(s) or event(s) you have registered, you are required to send a written request to education@hksi.org (for training courses) or event@hksi.org (for events) for approval.  Refund will be considered and approved on a case by case basis.

D9. How can I get the refund if my withdrawal request is approved?

Payments via VISA Card, MasterCard, American Express Card or Union Pay will be refunded to the same credit card account.  For Cash/EPS/PayPal payment, we will refund in the form of a cheque.  The cheque will be sent by registered mail to your registered address.  You may receive the refund within 28 working days depends on your payment method.  Service / administration fee per transaction will apply.

E. Attendance Record and Certificate

E1. How can I retrieve my activity (other than examination) and CPT attendance records?

You can retrieve your activity (other than examination) and CPT records from your personalised Online Portal under Record. 

For Members, you can retrieve your records from 1 January 2015 onwards.

For non-Members, you can retrieve your records from the date when you activate your Online Portal (i.e. your first time login date).

E2. As a Member, how can I retrieve my activity and CPT records before 1 January 2015?

You can send your written request to info@hksi.org and we will arrange upon request.  Service/administration fee will apply.

E3. I am not the HKSI Institute’s member, how can I retrieve my activity and CPT attendance records before I activate my Online Portal?

You can send a written request to info@hksi.org and we will arrange upon request.  Service/administration fee will apply.

E4. How can I print my activity or CPT attendance record in the Online Portal?

You can download and/or print your activity or CPT attendance record from the Online Portal under Record.

E5. Will I get CPT/CPD hours for attending eCourse or eSeminar ?

You can get the qualified CPT/CPD hours when you have completed the eCourse or eSeminar and pass the post training assessment. 

E6. What kind of examination records is available in the Online Portal?

You can retrieve and/or print the following examination records issued after 1 January 2015:

  • notification of examination result of all examinations provided by HKSI Institute except for the PRC Securities Regulations Examination
  • examination certificates issued by HKSI Institute except for the CIIA/CIWM Final Examination Certificate
E7. How can I print my notification of examination results and/or examination certificates in the Online Portal?

You can download and/or print your notification of examination result and examination certificates from “Record”.  There is no restriction in printing your examination result(s) and certificate(s).

E8. How long will the notification of examination result and examination certificates be available in the Online Portal for download and/or print?

Within one year from the date of the respective examination you have taken.  

E9. How can I view my notification of examination result of the PRC Securities Regulations Examination?

Please visit Securities Association of China (SAC)'s website for your notification of examination result of the PRC Securities Regulations Examination. 

E10. How can I get my CIIA/CIWM Final Examination Certificate?

We only issue hard copy of the CIIA/CIWM Final Examination Certificate and will be available at our counter for collection.

E11. When will the examination results be posted?
  • MPF Intermediaries Examination: Seven working days after the examination
  • LE in Hong Kong, CPWP Module 1 Examination, GSQE: Eight working days after the examination
  • LE in China, LE in Taiwan: 14 working days after the examination
  • ACIDWP: Two months after the examination
  • CIIA/CIWM: Three months after the examination

E12. How can I get my notification of examination result and examination certificates after one year of the examination date?

You can request for the Statement of Result.  Service / administration fee will apply.

E13. I took my examination before 2015. Can I get the notification of examination result or examination certificate?

You can request for the Statement of Result.  Service / administration fee will apply.

E14. How can I apply for the Statement of Result?

You need to submit the completed “Statement of Results – Application Form” to us by post / in person (during counter opening hours).  We charge an administration fee of HK$200 per copy.
