[Webinar] Asset Management Fundamentals Module 4: Asset Management

Overview

This is Module 4 of the Asset Management Fundamentals (AMF) Programme, which consists of FOUR modules.  AMF is an induction programme designed to equip financial services practitioners with the knowledge and skills to enter the Asset Management industry.

Module 4 Asset Management provides an overview of the industry, including client objectives, investment products, portfolio management, and the investment management process.

Through this module, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to navigate the complex world of asset management and make informed investment decisions.

The other modules in the training series are:

Module 1: Overview of Legal and Regulatory Framework for Securities & Futures Industry (10-hour class)

Module 2: Financial Markets

Module 3: Regulation of Asset Management

Upon completing all FOUR modules, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for the AMF programme.

Who should attend

This programme is primarily targeted to those who would like to gain a solid understanding of and/or those who plan to enter into the asset
management industry sector.

Financial Incentive Scheme of the WAM Pilot Programme

This course has already been approved as an eligible course of the Financial Incentive Scheme for Professional Training (“the Scheme”) under the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector (“the Pilot Programme”). The Scheme aims to enhance the competency and professionalism of in-service practitioners within the asset and wealth management sector and to assist other practitioners within the financial services industry in acquiring the knowledge and skills required for entering the sector. Eligible applicants will be subsidised 80% of the course fees by the HKSAR Government upon satisfactory completion of the courses approved by Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, subject to a ceiling of HK$15,000. Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute is appointed as the implementation agent of the Pilot Programme. Speaker/Course Instructor

Daniel JIM
Mr Jim started his career in Europe and was instrumental in supporting major European institutions' first investments into Chinese equities. He subsequently founded one of the first home-grown independent investment management firms in Greater China, focusing on alternative investment strategies.

Over the years, Mr Jim has established himself as one of Asia's pioneers in global hedge fund investments, conducted due diligence on more than 5,000 and allocated to over 100 funds. Mr Jim has been lecturing at the Institute for 20 years on topics ranging from hedge fund to asset management and is currently also a Part-time Lecturer at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

Daniel earned his Bachelor and Master degrees at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and SDA Bocconi in Milan, respectively, upon graduating from St. Joseph’s College in Hong Kong.
