“The key objective of the Case Competition is to connect our professional community and nurture young talents in the financial services industry.  We aim to equip students with practical soft skills and industry knowledge for success, and we are immensely grateful to Lead Sponsor Grant Thornton Hong Kong Limited, our Cash Sponsors, Project Sponsors, judges, as well as university office representatives for making this possible.  We look forward to welcoming more students as members and participants in the next edition of the Case Competition, and we encourage more corporates to join us in educating our youth,” said Mr Colin Shaftesley, Chairperson of HKSI Institute.

“We are impressed by the level of enthusiasm and ingenuity from our student participants in their sustainability-specific case studies.  By immersing themselves in the subjects, the students have expanded their knowledge in this field and refined their skills in presenting their ideas and research findings within a business environment,” said Ms Helen Leung, Programme Chair of the Case Competition and Solutions Leader, Asia of Mercer FundWatchTM.  “We are pleased to actively promote education and raise awareness amongst students on sustainability through the Case Competition,” Ms Leung added.

Mr Barry Tong, Advisory Partner of Grant Thornton Hong Kong Limited, expressed his pride in the success of the Case Competition.  He stated, “Having served as the former Programme Chair for the past few years, I am pleased to see that this initiative has grown from strength to strength, enabling more students to participate and benefit from it.  At Grant Thornton, we strongly believe in providing young students with the necessary guidance and skills to help them realise their full potential, and we are happy to be part of this worthy initiative.”

The Case Competition, which was rebranded in 2022 from the Scholarship Programme established in 2004, has successfully reached out to nearly 1,000 students since its rebranding.  It offers enriched content and fosters dynamic engagement with corporates, higher education institutions and students.
