We started the year 2020/21 with lots of uncertainties and challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Building on our solid foundation, strategic priorities and technology investments, we were able to make significant progress and breakthrough in our service offerings, as well as provide flexibility and a c c e s s i b i l i t y t o o u r c o r e offerings of qualification, training and development, and professional connection. Pandemic Response Customers and employees’ safety is always our top priority. We have put in place various precautionary measures to ensure that we can operate under a safe environment. The pandemic has had a deep impact on the way we conduct business. Suppo r t ed by ou r es t ab l i shed Advanced Learning Platform (ALP) 踏入 2020/21 年度,我們即面對新冠 肺炎疫情帶來的大量不明朗因素和挑 戰。猶幸學會根基穩固,加上早已制 定優先策略和大力投資科技,在會務 上仍取得可觀進展和突破,可於提供 資格考試、培訓及發展,以至聯繫專 業社群等核心服務時作出彈性安排, 方便會員和同業。 應對疫情 學會以顧客及員工的安全為先,因此 實施多項防疫措施,確保在安全環境 下運作。 疫症毋疑對我們的日常營運影響巨 大。然而,憑藉成熟的先進學習平台 (ALP) 及科技基建,我們得以迅速走向 數碼模式,將大量培訓及發展活動改 以網上研討會及網上課程形式進行。 另外,我們亦可透過虛擬會議設施與 內部及外界持份者保持聯繫。 期內,我們除了再次檢視學會的主要 業務風險,著手提高風險管理能力, 亦重新評估有否出現新的發展機遇, 從中創造價值。舉例說,我們曾作出 特別安排,方便海外考生通過海外專 業團體或遙距考試服務參加本會考 試。 特區政府在抗疫期間推出多項措施, 希望紓緩疫症對從業員及企業的營 運壓力,學會有幸參與其事。 2020 年 5 月,我們獲委託為防疫抗疫基金 (AEF) 轄下證券業資助計劃的執行代 理,向合資格的中、小型證券中介機 構與證券及期貨事務監察委員會(證監 會)持牌人發放補貼,處理的個人及機 構申請分別達到 30,456 及 750 宗。 and technology infrastructure, we quickly adapted to a digital lifestyle and converted many of our training and development offerings to webinar and eCourse formats. In addition, virtual meeting facilities enabled us to maintain sustainable engagements with both internal and external stakeholders. During this time, we re-examined our key business risks and stepped up our risk management capabilities. We also reassessed our value creation opportunities, such as initiating special arrangements for overseas candidates to sit for our examinations through overseas professional bodies or remote examination services. We are pleased to support HKSAR Government’s effort in alleviating the operating pressure of individuals and corporates affected by the pandemic. In May 2020, we were appointed as the implementation agent of the Anti-epidemic Fund (AEF) subsidy scheme for small and medium-sized intermediaries and licensed individuals of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
