This is Unit 2 of the training programme in pursuing the "Trust Training Certificate".

It consists of two modules:

Module 4: Types of Trusts and their uses

Module 5: Retention of control

If the participant is intended to pursue the "Trust Training Certificate", he / she is required to take "TTC Unit 1: Introduction to Trusts" prior to attending this unit.

Types of Trust and their uses

  1. Protective Trust
  2. Charitable Trust
  3. Non-Charitable Purpose Trust
  4. Investment vehicle in the form of a trust
  5. Pension Trust
  6. Employee Benefit Trust (e.g. employee stock ownership)
  7. Discretionary (and Letters of Wishes)
  8. Bare Trusts, Declaration of Trust, Two-party Trust (Co-fiduciary Trust)
  9. Fixed Interest Trust
  10. Revocable or Irrevocable Trust
  11. Resulting Trust / Constructive Trust


Retention of control

  1. Reserved Power Trust
  2. Private Trust Company’s
  3. Use of VISTA / LST / SISTA trusts
  4. Trust / Limited Partnership structure

對象

This course is primarily targeted to those  who would like to pursue the "Trust Training Certificate" in order to apply for the Hong Kong Trustees' Association Certified Trust Practitioner™ designation.

It is also relevant to those who would like to gain a solid understanding of the course subject matter and / or those who plan to enter into the Trust industry sector.

導師/講者

Stefano MARIANI
Stefano heads the tax and trusts practice at Deacons. He has a broad range of advisory and contentious tax experience, ranging from corporate taxation and group reconstructions to personal taxation and trusts and estate planning and management. He advises on all matters of Hong Kong and international tax law, including tax-efficient structuring and restructuring, and tax appeals before the Board of Review and the higher courts. His experience includes cross-border tax planning and Double Taxation Treaty driven tax structuring. Stefano further advises on all areas of Hong Kong and international trusts, estate planning, and charities, including the drafting of trusts instruments, restructuring of trusts structures, and trusts dispute resolution.
