Scam victims are often older people and those with less financial knowledge? Think again. ANYONE can be a victim. 

Between January and November 2020, the total number of reported telephone deception cases increased by 107.9% to 1,108 cases, from 575 cases for the same period in 2019. More alarmingly, the amount lost through telephone deception between January and November 2020 reached a record HKD563.2 million!

In this webinar, Mr Gary Luk, Senior Inspector of Police of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC), Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB), will share the prevalent modus operandi of telephone deception and the relevant prevention tips.  With work-from-home arrangement being the new normal and social media becoming an indispensable component of modern life, Gary will also share best practices on preventing social media accounts from being hijacked and exploited by scammers.
