MESSAGE FROMBOARD CHAIRPERSON AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE 董事局主席及行政總裁的話 HKSI Institute Annual Report 2024 6 We connect our members with Greater Bay Area (GBA) market practitioners by intensifying cross-regional activities. We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen Municipality (Authority of Qianhai) on 8 June 2023 to further enhance cross border connectivity and knowledge exchange. We also organised a study mission trip to Shenzhen on 15 September 2023, and later partnered with the Shenzhen Securities Association for the first time to co-host the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Capital Market Financial Innovation Forum on 18 December 2023 in Shenzhen. These events sparked a meaningful dialogue among our members, industry leaders, government officials and regulators. They also laid the groundwork for capacity building and future collaboration between cross-border market practitioners. Strengthening Our Infrastructure and Capabilities After 15 years of relying on a traditional examination system, we achieved a major milestone with the successful launch of a new system for our Computer-based Examination (CBE) Centre in June 2023. This new system will pave the way for offering remote examination and test centre services outside of Hong Kong in early 2025, making our examinations more cost-effective and accessible to overseas examination candidates. During the reporting period, our focus extended to digitalisation and automation projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. The digitalisation of the Individual Membership application form in late March 2023 has significantly shortened the processing and approval time. We also enhanced our cybersecurity measures by strengthening policies and protocols, conducting constant surveillance of key systems, and engaging specialists to monitor and protect the Institute from rising cybersecurity threats. We have set up a dedicated team to implement the new initiatives on GBA and business development . We also broadened our communication and promotion channels to reach out to a wider group of market practitioners and students to keep them informed of our latest news and events. People are our key asset. Our commitment to creating an open and connected work environment has paid off in multiple ways, including a notable decrease in staff turnover from 28% in 2022/2023 to 18% in 2023/2024. Looking Ahead Global financial markets will continue to be shaped by prevailing economic and geopolitical conditions, as well as advancing megatrends such as technology innovation. In 2025, we will address challenges and pursue the opportunities for membership growth and expansion of our service offerings in examinations and training, guided by our 2023- 2026 strategic priorities.
