Following closely from the study mission to Shenzhen, we participated in the three-day Shenzhen International Financial Expo, which culminated in our co-hosted forum with the Shenzhen Securities Association on the final day on 18 December 2023, titled “The 13th Shenzhen – Hong Kong Capital Market Financial Innovation Forum.” Our first joint forum brought together over 500 leaders from the financial industry and government representatives, featuring notable speakers such as Mr Qin Hong, Counsellor of The Commissioner’s Office of China’s Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong; Mr Ding Shizhao, President of the Hong Kong Commercial Daily; and our Board Director, Dr Wang Zhongze. It also featured engaging panel discussions on integration and development of financial talents in the GBA, with industry leaders including The Honourable Robert Lee, Member of Legislative Council of HKSAR and our Board Director Dr Gordon Tsui providing valuable perspectives. Additionally, we were pleased to have our member Mr Li Zhong, Head of International Business at Fofund Fund Distribution Co., Ltd share his insights on the opportunities and challenges in cross- border businesses and wealth management. Their participation helped set the momentum for a collaborative exchange of ideas, and laying the foundation for future initiatives.
