SECRETARIAT DRIVING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION Throughout the year, we tapped on our improved technical architecture to successfully deliver a range of customer- facing and internal projects. These initiatives aimed to streamline our business processes, promote digitalisation and facilitate automation. We leveraged the advancements in AI development to collaborate with different business units. Our joint efforts involved exploring AI applications, such as automating routine tasks and providing personalised and efficient support. The use of AI will be one major focus in coming year. Internally, we completed 12 projects focused on business automation, functional enhancements, and security improvements. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY As a good corporate citizen, we have stepped forward to take initiatives in the aspects of environmental, social, and governance. Environmental – During the year, we have made additional efforts to promote employees’ environmental awareness. This includes providing guidelines for clean recycling, placing recycling bins for papers, metal and plastic in our new office, and encouraging staff participation in various recycling campaigns organised by Swire Properties Management Limited. Examples of these campaigns include the recycling of lai see packets and mooncake boxes. Our initiative to create a paperless working environment also resulted in an impressive reduction in printing volume by 32.54%, paper consumption by 5.26%, and costs of disposing confidential documents by 92.5% during the comparable period from May to February after office relocation (2021/22 vs 2022/23). Social – Thanks to the generous donations by the Qianhai Authority, Qianhai Financial Regulatory Bureau and the various financial associations in Qianhai, we successfully distributed 30,000 sets of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits and 20,000 surgical masks to 100 secondary schools across Hong Kong in April 2022. This support came at a crucial time during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, where these resources are in high demand. The Association of Hong Kong Chinese Middle Schools and the Hong Kong Association of the Heads of Secondary Schools played a pivotal role in coordinating the distribution process, with four schools designated as convenient collection points for the distribution. @ Henrietta Secondary School @ Baptist Lui Ming Choi Secondary School HKSI Institute Annual Report 2023 42
