To facilitate this process, we established the Virtual Assets Working Group and the Trust Working Group, working closely with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) to establish standards for new examination papers, as well as develop training programmes that will benefit individuals who need to carry on these activities under the new regulatory frameworks. The examinations and training programmes are expected to be launched in 2024. Launch of the CPWP Bridging Programme Recognising the shared core competencies between Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Enhanced Competency Framework on Retail Wealth Management (ECF-RWM) and Private Wealth Management (ECF-PWM), we worked closely with Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) to develop and administer a bridging programme to enable qualified holders of HKIB’s Certified Retail Wealth Professional (CRWP) Certification under ECF-RWM to pursue the Certified Private Wealth Professionals (CPWP) Certification under ECF-PWM. This initiative allows individuals to seamlessly enter the private wealth management sector by leveraging their existing expertise. The CPWP Bridging Programme, launched in January 2023, consists of two mandatory training modules along with a post-training examination. Upon successfully completing the CPWP Bridging Programme, participants will receive a PWMA-recognised Certificate of Completion, which is equivalent to passing the examinations of CPWP Module 1 (Paper 1) and Module 2. The HKSI Institute plays a key role in overseeing the overall programme management, including enrolment, examination administration and certificate issuance. We also develop Module 1 of the bridging programme, which focuses on technical and product knowledge, while HKIB is responsible for Module 2, which covers the ethics and compliance aspect.
