Case Competition Led by Scholarship Programme Chair Mr Barry Tong and Individual Membership Outreach Committee Cha i rman Mr Kev i n L i em, t he Institute’s signature Scholarship Pr og r amme es t ab l i shed s i nce 2004, was rebranded as “Case C o m p e t i t i o n ” w i t h e n r i c h e d engagement and content, as well as more sponsors on board in this meaningful talent development initiative. With Environmental, Social and G o v e r n a n c e ( E S G ) g a i n i n g significance to young people and businesses, more companies are embedding ESG factors into their business strategy and plans. This year’s Case Competition theme rightly focuses on ESG which allowed young Student Members to learn how companies implement their ESG strategy in their business as well as for our Project Sponsors to show case their success stories in driving the ESG initiatives. This year’s Case Competition was opened to 22 higher education i n s t i t u t i o n s ( HE I s ) . T h r o u g h wo r k i n g c l o s e l y w i t h v a r i o u s schools’ representatives and active promotion, we received a record- high of sponsors, with student applications of close to 200. We are grateful to members and corporates for their great support in making the Case Competition a successful and meaningful one for the students. Our appreciation goes to Lead Sponsor Grant Thornton Hong Kong Limited, as well as Cash Prize Sponsors Masan Capital, I-Access Group and Hong Kong Financial Asset Exchange Group for their generous contributions and our Learning Partner, Fitch Learning, for offering their ESG eCourse to the Stage 2 participants. 18 Project Sponsors, comprising of corporate members and firms from asset management, banking, exchange, Fintech, and professional s e r v i c e s s e c t o r s c o n t r i b u t e d significant time in coaching a team of two semi-finalists on their ESG strategy, plan and deliverables, which include production of a 10-slide PowerPoint deck and a 5-minute video to compete for a spot in the Finals. Our heartfelt gratitude to the judges for their time and effort in deliberating and selecting the award winners, and we were also privileged to have Mr Francis Ngai, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Social Ventures Hong Kong, on board as an external judge at the final round. 案例比賽 學會早於 2004 年已設立「獎學金計 劃」。在該計劃主席湯 飈 先生及個人 會籍外展委員會主席林子傑先生領導 下，「獎學金計劃」在年內易名「案例比 賽」，除了有更多院校和贊助機構參 與，內容亦越趨豐富。 由於年輕人和商界對環境、社會與管 治 (ESG) 的重視程度與日俱增，越來 越多公司將 ESG 因素納入經營策略和 業務計劃。因此，今年的案例比賽亦 以 ESG 為主題，一方面幫助學生會員 認識企業如何在日常營運時實踐 ESG 策略，同時讓專題研究的贊助機構展 示其推動 ESG 的成功之道。 今年比賽公開予 22 所專上院校的學生 參加。我們與院校代表緊密合作，加 上積極宣傳，最終獲多間機構支持及 錄得接近 200 份參賽申請，創下歷年 新高。這活動全賴會員與各機構鼎力 支持，對參與學生意義重大，我們謹 致衷心之謝忱，特別鳴謝致同（香港） 會計師事務所作為主要贊助商，馬山 資本、一通集團，香港金融資產交易 集團作為獎金贊助機構，及學習夥伴 Fitch Learning 為晉身第二階段的學生 提供 ESG 網上課程，使活動能順利舉 行。 學會亦非常榮幸獲得 18 家機構會員 及公司贊助參加者進行專題研究。它 們分佈於資產管理、銀行、交易所、 金融科技及專業服務界別。每家機構 均撥出寶貴時間，向兩人一組的準決 賽入圍者講解其 ESG 策略、規劃及成 果，入圍者可根據有關資料製作一套 包含 10 張投影片的 PowerPoint 簡報， 以及一段長 5 分鐘的短片，以競逐決賽 席位。 我們衷心感謝專業評判團，以及香港 社會創投基金之創辦人及行政總裁魏 華星先生擔任決賽外部評判；評審團 要從表現卓越的入圍者中選出優勝 者，實在殊不容易。 Case Competition Award Presentation Ceremony held on 23 June 2022 2022 年 6 月 23 日舉行案例比賽頒獎典禮 49 香港證券及投資學會 二零二二年年報
