SECRETARIAT 秘書處 66 Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute Annual Report 2020 The Secretariat, led by the Chief Executive, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HKSI Institute. As of 31 March 2020, the Secretariat has 63 full time employees in the Chief Executive Office, the departments of Curriculum and Ex am i na t i on s , Edu c a t i on and Development, Membership and Ou t r each , I nnova t i on and Technology, Corporate Affairs, as well as from the WAM Pilot Programme. Our people are our greatest asset. We embrace people-focused policies and initiatives that bring out the best in our people. We ensure that they are remunerated equitably, and we encourage staff engagements throughout the year and across departments. Human Resources During the reporting period, we engaged a Human Resource (HR) Consultant to help enhance our HR capabilities. We conducted two employee pulse surveys to better understand the workplace dynamics, as well as to get views on the work- from-home arrangements that have been put in place. More townhall meetings were set up as compared to previous years, and welcome sessions hosted by the Chief Executive for new staff members were also organised. This it to share information with the staff on business priorities and plan, as well as to serve as an avenue for them to share views and build team spirit. We listened to our employees’ feedback and many of the year’s HR efforts were the results from these open communications – helping us improve our support to the team. Additionally, we are implementing a new HR system to streamline HR work processes and automate manual tasks to increase work efficiency. There will also be a second phase development for an eLeave module to enhance and simplify the current leave application procedures. Staff Wellness In the 2019/2020 period, the Staff Re c r ea t i on Comm i t t ee ( SRC ) organised a Christmas party, a hiking trip and a barbeque outing.
