04 Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute Annual Report 2020 MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN 主席的話 Other IT projects launched during the reporting period include the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector (WAM Pilot Programme)’s Summer Internship Programme (SIP) online application portal, as well as the new email analytics platform and the Human Resource System. These initiatives not only helped to automate manual admi n i s t r a t i on wo r k , bu t a l so enhanced stakeholders’ experience with the Institute. Partnerships The HKSI Institute is always actively working with partners to tap on new opportunities and synergies for growth. In September 2019, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding w i t h T h e Ch i n e s e Se c u r i t i e s Association of Hong Kong to facilitate professional exchange. This year, we are also working with the Fintech Association of Hong Kong and Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment on new learning and development programmes. Industry Development With the solid achievement of the three-year WAM Pilot Programme funded by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, we a r e a l s o p l ea s ed t ha t t he Government has extended the programme for another three years until 2023. This fully demonstrated their recognition and trust on us. As its implementation agent, the HKSI Institute is committed to building the long-term sustainable development of the asset and wealth management sector. 學會在期內開展的資訊科技計劃,還 包括優化「提升資產財富管理業人才培 訓先導計劃」(資產財富管理業先導計 劃)下的暑期實習計劃 (SIP) 網上申請 平台,以及新增的電郵分析平台與人 力資源系統。這些新項目不僅有助將 行政工作自動化,亦可改善持份者與 學會互動時的體驗。 積極協作 共創雙贏 學會一向積極與各夥伴合作,以期掌 握新機遇和發揮協同效應,推動業界 發展。 為促進專業交流,學會於 2019 年 9 月 與香港中資證券業協會簽訂諒解備忘 錄。今年,我們再接再厲,現正與香 港金融科技協會和特許證券及投資學 會商討開辦新的課程及專業進修計 劃。 促進行業發展 香港特別行政區政府(特區政府)財經 事務及庫務局於三年前撥款設立「資產 財富管理業先導計劃」,並委任學會為 執行夥伴。由於成績斐然,當局決定 將計劃延長至 2023 年,這足以表達政 府肯定學會前期工作成果,並再度對 我們投下信任一票。學會對此深感榮 幸,並致力推動資產財富管理業的長 遠和可持續發展。 2020 年 5 月,政府財經事務及庫務局 委任學會為「防疫抗疫基金」證劵業資 助計劃的執行代理,負責發放特別資 助。對於能夠配合政府為緩解受新冠 肺炎疫情影響的中小型證劵仲介機構 和證監會持牌人的經營壓力,我們深 感欣慰。 培養人才 確立機構文化 人才是公司的實力之源。學會深明此 理,故持續投資培育員工及提供所需 支援,一則吸引和挽留人才,二則協 助他們面向未來,與時並進。 在努力達致業務目標時,我們亦心 繫社會。除了繼續支持「公益金便服 日」,捐款協助弱勢社群,學會還於 去年底向香港遊樂場協會捐贈了 300 個便攜式保溫水樽,由協會代為在社 區活動中派發。我們穩步推行辦公室 數碼化和自動化政策,減少用紙,今 年更再創新猷,只製作電子版本的年 報,為保護環境出力。 In May 2020, the HKSI Institute was appointed by FSTB as the implementation agent for disbursing special subsidies under the Anti- epidemic Fund to the securities i ndus t r y , and we a r e p l eased t o s u p p o r t t h e Go v e r nme n t ’ s effort in alleviating the operating pressure of small and medium- sized intermediaries and licensed individuals of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. People and Culture An organisation is only as strong as its people. At the HKSI Institute, we continue to invest in our people and provide the relevant support system to attract and retain talent, and to future-proof our workforce. As we drive our business objectives, we did not lose sight of the community in which we serve. We support The Community Chest’s Dress Casual Day and made donations to help those in need. In addition, 300 water tumblers were given to the Hong Kong Playground Association late last year for their distribution at community events. Many of the Institute’s operation practices were also steadily digitalised and automated which helped in reducing paper consumption. This year, we go a step further in our go green effort by producing only the electronic version of our annual report.
