08 Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute Annual Report 2019 MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE 行政總裁的話 The Pilot Programme to Enhance Ta l en t Tr a i n i ng f o r t he Asse t and Wealth Management Sector ( WAM P i l o t P r o g r amme ) , a 3-year programme funded by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, continued to gain momentum. Being the implementation agent of the WAM Pilot Programme, we expanded the eligible WAM courses under the Financial Incentive Scheme, as well as increased the internship p l a cemen t s and edu c a t i ona l activities in the WAM sector for the undergraduates. We have attracted some 400 students participating WAM activities and a total of 55 s t uden t s comp l e t ed t he 2018 Summer Internship Programme. A p a r t f r o m t h e WA M P i l o t Programme, we also provided a briefing session to the students who pa r t i c i pa t ed t he C r o s s - Boundary Study Tour for Post- Seconda r y F i nanc i a l Ta l en t s Programme initiated by FSTB and supported by the Shanghai Municipal Government Financial Services Office in June 2018. This is our second year participating this programme to equip the students with adequate knowledge about the investment industry in Hong Kong prior to their study tour. Enhancing Professional Excellence We continued to develop and maintain high quality examinations and training programmes that are relevant to our members and in- service practitioners. In August 2018, we rolled out a new certificate p r o g r amme , T r u s t T r a i n i n g Certificate (TTC), in partnership with the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association. The TTC programme i s t he f i r s t l oca l p r o f ess i ona l qualification programme designed for and set the core competency requirements of the Hong Kong practitioners in the Trust industry. In addition to the expanded eligible training courses under the WAM Pilot Programme, many thematic c o u r s e s a n d s em i n a r s we r e arranged during the financial year to address the topical industry issues and development, such as on Fintech, listing rules, new corporate fund structure and green financing, to help our members and the financial services practitioners e n h a n c e t h e i r p r o f e s s i o n a l excellence. New Digital Frontier Our digital transformation initiative c on t i nued t o s t r eng t hen ou r capabilities and service offerings. During the reporting period, we adop t ed t he Fas t e r Paymen t System (FPS) in early 2019, which provided participants and members the convenience of instant payment, i n add i t i on t o o t he r paymen t systems that are supported at our counter. We also expanded our eLearning offerings in 2018-2019, and saw a surge of enrolments for our eCourses. As at the end of the financial year, we recorded 2,881 participants, a 43% increase from the last reporting period. 由香港特別行政區政府(特區政府) 財經事務及庫務局撥款、為期 3 年 的「提升資產財富管理業人才培訓 先導計劃」(資產財富管理業先導計 劃),持續獲得巨大回響。身為這項 計劃的執行代理,我們提供了更多 獲專業培訓資助計劃認可的合資格 培訓課程,又增加大學本科生在資 產財富管理業機構的實習名額和舉 辦教育活動。年內參與有關活動的 同學接近 400 人;合共 55 位同學完 成 2018 年的暑期實習計劃。 2018 年 6 月,我們為參與「滬港金融 專業大學本科生交流及考察計劃」的 同學安排簡介會。此計劃由財經事 務及庫務局主辦,獲上海市金融服 務辦公室支持。這是學會第二年參 與,而安排簡介會的目的,就是為 了幫助同學在開展考察之旅前,先 充分了解香港投資業的背景。 提升專業水平 學會在年內繼續研發和提供高質素 的考試及培訓課程,以配合會員及 從業員的需要。 2018 年 8 月,我們 與香港信託人公會聯合推出信託培 訓證書課程。此乃香港信託業首個 本地專業資格課程,清晰開列從業 員所需具備的核心能力。 除擴展資產財富管理業先導計劃合 資格培訓課程的範圍,我們在財政 年度內亦策劃了不少專題課程及講 座,針對金融科技、上市規則、新 的公司資金結構、綠色金融等業界 熱門話題及最新趨勢,助會員及金 融服務業者提升專業水平。 善用數碼平台 我們在數碼轉型後持續增強服務能 力及種類。舉例說,除了櫃台一貫 接受的付款方法,我們於 2019 年初 接通了「轉數快」支付平台,方便參 加者及會員即時付款。 在 2018 至 2019 年度,我們也提供更 多網上課程,使選擇這種進修方式 的學員大增。在財政年度結束時, 網上課程的學員總數達到 2,881 人, 較去年同期上升 43% 。
