Recent Developments in the Field of IPOs in Asia
Philippe will share his thoughts on recent developments for IPOs in Asia. This will include lessons learnt from equity capital markets activity in South East Asia, where some of the largest IPOs have been completed so far in 2012, notable features of cornerstone tranches in the region and recent regulatory changes to make deals succeed in a one of the most challenging market environments in recent times

Philippe Espinasse spent more than 19 years working as a senior investment banker, including for S.G.Warburg (now UBS Investment Bank), Macquarie and Nomura as a Managing Director, Head of Equity Corporate Finance and Head of Equity Capital Markets.
Throughout his career, he has successfully completed more than 140 corporate finance transactions, including many billion-dollar privatisation and private sector IPOs, equity and equity-linked fund raisings, real estate investment trusts, infrastructure funds, principal and pre-IPO investments, M&A and advisory transactions, euro- and domestic bond issues and debt private placements.
Philippe lives in Hong Kong, where he writes and works as an independent consultant. He will also be a Honorary Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong (Department of Professional Legal Education) for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 terms.
He is the author of "IPO: A Global Guide" (Hong Kong University Press, April 2011) and a co-author of the English/simplified Chinese character "2012 IPO Guide" (LexisNexis, January 2012). Philippe contributes regular columns to the Dow Jones Banking Intelligence global news platform, the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong and France's leading financial daily L'Agefi. His articles have also been published on WSJ.com, in The Wall Street Journal, on the website of BBC News and in the China Economic Review.
