Hong Kong Securities Institute (HKSI)
announces
the appointment of new Chairman and new Directors
The seventh AGM of the Hong Kong Securities
Institute was held on 15 December 2004. During the
meeting, six directors were appointed. Followed by
the AGM, Mr Edward Pak Chung Kwan was elected at the
Board Meeting as Chairman of the Institute.
Retiring Chairman, Mr Alec Tsui comments,
"The Institute will benefit enormously from the
extensive experience of Mr Edward Kwan acting as
Chairman. His broad finance experience and extensive
network of contacts in the securities industry will
help to guide the direction of the Institute in the
coming years."
As HKSI Chairman Mr Kwan brings with him over twenty
years of experience in the securities market. He
began his career in the futures industry at Sun Hung
Kai in 1976 and joined the HSBC Group in 1982, where
he is now Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Broking
Services (Asia) Limited.
In addition to establishing a successful business
career, Mr Kwan has also played an important role in
the development of the securities industry in Hong
Kong through a variety of voluntary appointments to
industry bodies and securities committees. He has
served as a Board member of the HKSI since the
inception in 1997 and has also been actively
involved in the evolution of the HKSI's
examinations, training and membership services.
