The HKSI is
pleased to announce that from October 2004,
candidates of the Licensing Examination are able to
view their individual examination scores and
performance analyses (which provide a breakdown of a
candidate¡¦s performance in each topic of the
examination) online via the HKSI¡¦s website (www.hksi.org).
Online examination results will be available for
viewing by candidates 9 full working days after the
date of their examinations.
These
important improvements to communication with
candidates are part of a series of on-going quality
assurance initiatives which have been put in place
to ensure that both the content and service delivery
mechanisms for the HKSI Licensing Examination are in
line with market requirements. The HKSI believes
that disclosing actual examination scores to LE
candidates and providing individual performance
analyses online will assist LE candidates to develop
a better understanding of their individual
performance in each of their examinations in a
timely manner. This additional information may be
of particular assistance to candidates who are
required to re-take their examinations, as it should
enable them to design appropriate examination
preparation methods in the future.
In addition to
these improvements to communication with candidates
on their examination results, the HKSI is also
committed to continue to review the quality and
content of the questions of the Licensing
Examination. A working group of high level
practitioners and regulators was formed during the
summer to review the examination questions for LE
Paper 1 and make recommendations as to suggested
changes and/or modifications to these questions as
appropriate. The review was completed in October
2004.

The HKSI
believes that the above initiatives will further
enhance the transparency and the quality of the
Licensing Examination for securities and futures
market practitioners in Hong Kong.
