This issue will review Hong Kong's economic performance last year. Mr George Leung of HSBC, Mr Nicholas Kwan of Standard Chartered Bank and HKSAR Government Economist Mr K C Kwok shared their thoughts and predictions for 2008. The take-off of private equity in China and prospects of Hong Kong becoming an Islamic finance hub are also under the spotlight.

 

Other stories include an update on REITs in Singapore; HKEx Chief Executive Mr Paul Chow talked on the major initiatives unveiled by the HKEx to maintain Hong Kong as an international financial centre. A feature on fiduciary duties and conflicts of interest is presented by views from Miss Angelina Kwan of Cantor Fitzgerald.


Lingnan University's new president Professor Chan Yuk-shee is featured in our Member Profile, sharing his visions and plans for the university.
