Highlights :

This issue is to commemorate the HKSI 10^th Anniversary. Members' views will be gauged and highlighted primarily.

The establishment of the Hong Kong Securities Institute helped Hong Kong enter the ranks of world class financial centres. In cover story 1, Founding Chairman Dr Edgar Cheng and Board Members Mr Bob Bunker, Mr David White and Mr Tim Nicholson share their recollections. Founding Members Mr Anthony Neoh and Mr Andrew Sheng also write remarks celebrating the Institute 10^th Anniversary.

Our Members come from all sectors of the financial industry. Some are with different backgrounds. Some are very close, even related genetically. Their reasons for joining are as diverse as their roles and each has a story to tell. A total of eight members are interviewed and featured in the cover story 2, sharing their stories one by one.

The cover story 3 looks back at the last 10 years how the Institute has striven hard to uphold those early objectives through a number of groundbreaking achievements.

In this special issue, Hon Fellow Mr Gordon Jones talks to the journal and shares his plan after the retirement from Companies Registry. An update on QDII is provided by Mr Norman Yen (Xinhua FTSE Index) and Dr Hing S Tang (BOCI-Prudential Asset Management Ltd). Mr Chin-Chong Liew (Linklaters) also contributed an article on China Derivatives and Structured Products.

Three books were reviewed in the reading list of this issue. "One Up On Wall Street", "Liar's Poker" and "Hands on or Hands off". The reviews are written by Editorial Committee Chairman Mr Craig Lindsay and Members Mr Bob Bunker and Mr John Maguire.
