"Hong Kong Securities" July / August 2007 issue

Highlights :

In this issue, we will do a review of Hong Kong - not just of the 10 years since the handover, but rather going back as early as 1987, which represents the watershed when Hong Kong grew up as a financial marketplace and joined the ranks of world-class financial centre. Mr Robert Owen (SFC Chairman 1989-1992), Mr Charles Lee (HKEx Chairman, 1999-2006) and Mr Martin Wheatley (SFC CEO) shared their views to the Journal.

Other stories include a feature on the annual Business Ethics Forum held in June; an update of the European Commissionˇ¦s MiFID and its expected impact on Asia; an article introducing the measures taken by Malaysia to become a leading Islamic finance centre; and a regulatory update on the Joint Policy Statement of HKEx & SFC and its impact on attracting a wider range of overseas companies listing in Hong Kong.

In addition, we have Ms Winnie Pun, Managing Director of BlackRock, featuring in the Member Profileˇ¦s column.

The Reading List column is also geared towards keeping members up-to-date with the literature being written by and for professionals like themselves. If you have read something recently and would like to share it with others, please send the book title and author's name to member@hksi.org.
