Past Issue

"Hong Kong Securities" March / April 2007 issue

Highlights :

China's growth over the past 20 years has been hailed in many quarters as an economic miracle. Yet this phenomenal growth has become a cause for concern for its trading partners, because of the widening trade imbalance with the rest of the world.

This issue will look at how China gets to where it is regarding the trade surplus and assess the impact of China's trade surplus for Hong Kong and the region, such as the relocation of production plants to areas beyond the Pearl River Delta, and the growth potential for service and professional industries in the region.
