The pass rate of Paper 1 held on
19 Nov 2005 was 50%. Figures 1 and 2 show the
distribution by scores of the exam results and the
overall topical correctness¹

When compared with the overall pass rate and the
correctness rates of each topic of LE Paper 1 in the
previous month, candidates' performance in the November
2005 exam remains consistent. However, as indicated in
Table 1, candidates should note that while the
correctness rate of Topic 7 (Securities, Options and
Futures) has shown a continuous improvement in the 3
months from September to November 2005, it is still, on
average, the weakest among the 9 topics of LE Paper 1.
Table 2 shows
the subject areas in which candidates performed
unsatisfactorily in the Nov 2005 exam and the
topics/sections in the Study Manual which cover these
subject areas.

Manager Code of Conduct" listed above was also
classified as unsatisfactory in the October 2005 exam
and are recommended to pay special attention to this
