Recognition from local regulatory bodies
 
Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)
The LE has been recognised by the SFC under the "Guidelines on Competence" for registration as Representatives and/or Responsible Officers. The SFC has approved certain papers of the LE as recognised industry qualifications and local regulatory framework papers. Please refer to the tables below for details.

Note:

  2. Regulated Activity 3 (Leveraged Foreign Exchange Trading) is not included in the above table since the HKSI does not offer any examination papers on this subject.
  3. There is no competence requirement for Regulated Activity 7 (Providing Automated Trading Services).
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE)
The HKFE has recognised Papers 1, 7 and 9 of the LE. Staff of the Exchange Participants who wish to register as HKATS Exchange Participant Representatives are required to pass Papers 1, 7 and 9 of the LE in addition to the HKATS Rules and Procedures examination.
 
Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI)
HKSI Practicing Certificates and HKSI Specialist Certificates, which are granted to candidates who have completed a preset combination of LE examination papers, are recognised by the OCI. Holders of either of these certificates are exempted from taking the "Investment-linked Long Term Insurance Examination" of the Insurance Intermediaries Quality Assurance Scheme (IIQAS).
