To enrol in the DPE, individuals are required to register as a DPE Registered Student (Student). The Registration Fee is HK$100 and registration will last for three years. Applicants are expected to have some prior relevant knowledge before they apply for registration. An indication of prior relevant knowledge is the completion of:
- the HKSI Foundation Programme Examination (FPE); or
- the HKSI Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries (LE); or
- Diploma in HKSI/HKPU Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management; or
- a certificate/diploma in finance/investment from a recognised tertiary institution; or
- a recognised degree with a specialisation/major/minor study in a discipline such as business, finance, investment, economics or banking.
Students are advised to complete Paper 1 of the DPE before attempting to sit either Paper 2 or Paper 3.
