Director, Head of Institutional Business, Asia Pacific

Dr AU King-lun oversees the institutional business in Asia Pacific. He joined HSBC as Director, Global Research Group, Asia Pacific in July 1997. Prior to joining HSBC, he was the Managing Director of GMO (Hong Kong) Ltd. Before that, he was with Baring Asset Management in London as Director, Quantitative Management. Dr Au is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities Institute (HKSI), a CFA charter holder and holds a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from Durham University and a BA in Physics from Oxford University. In terms of public duties, Dr Au is the current Chairman of the HKSI. He also serves on a number of committees including the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal, the Investigation Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel. He was the Chairman of the HK Investment Funds Association in 2004/05.
